Powell Being Considered For McCain VP Slot
He may be considered.......but is he dumb enough to accept?

McCain Advisers Say Colin Powell Being Considered For VP Slot
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12753.html

Retired Gen. Colin Powell is among the potential running mates who have been considered by John McCain, campaign advisers told Politico.

...snip...

Campaign officials say McCain has told them not to discuss the process.

2. Well, Biden would point out the contrast between the 2 Iraq wars
and how disappointed he was in his old friend Colin Powell lying to the U.N. and teaming up with his old friend John McCain who has the wrong attitude toward foreign policy.

18. Could you see the debate between Biden and Power
Joe would look Powell straight in the eye and ask him "So seriously, how do you feel about the fact that you knowingly took a lie to the UN to start a war"

3. I wonder how McCain's fundie base will feel about Powell being pro-choice?
I think they'd vote for him anyway. The uniform will make them weak at the knees.

6. LOL! Just a distraction--LOOK OVER HERE!! COLIN POWELL!!
McNopoly's campaign can "consider" whomever they want for VP, but Powell isn't going to lash himself to a sinking ship and start attacking Obama (whom he may endorse)--and Powell is 71 years old.

7. The RNC was jealous of Dem speculation getting extra coverage and want some of their own.
They hope that by tossing interesting characters into their VP pool, they can steal some coverage from those damn Democrats and their convention. Watch for some more of these in the days to come.

No way Powell would accept.

22. Powell Supports Obama
He has given open support for Obama on at least 3 occasions. McCain would know this (if the old goof can remember).

I am new here so I have limited privileges. I want to start a thread on McCain's breaking of National Security law in his close contacts with the Georgian tyrant. Bush and McCain are covering up US complicity in the midnight artillery barrage against the city of Tskhinvali, South Ossetia. Half of that city's residents were ethnically cleansed.

I have Russian sourced videos of US advisors in Georgia. Also, I have material on the Anti-Soros Group, whose members were beaten and arrested last November for protesting the Neo-Con social disruption of Georgia. There is no where to put this.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=210&topic_id=23331&mesg_id=23332

Would someone start a thread under this title: MIDNIGHT MASSACRE IN GEORGIA: McCAIN COMPLICIT IN WAR CRIMES

Also, there are too numerous to count sources of Big Media coverup of the massacre. There was the sudden loss of satellite feed when Condi Rice was asked a single critical question of Georgian conduct. And there is this:

http://ossetians.com/eng/news.php?newsid=471&f=&PHPSESSID=5fba7887dd5ddb384b43a12b044f1b96

Manufacture of a beseiged popular regime in Georgia is bringing McCain up in the polls. This needs to be challenged effectively.

13. Why does this seem like they're just trying to get the same kinda coverage
that Obama got? I don't think they're ever gonna pick Powell just b/c of the amount of closet racists in their base so the only reason I can think of for the deliberate leak is that it's all a cry for attention from the MSM who would rather cover Obama and the DNC.

14. Powell is THIS close to endorsing Obama... he would never be McCain's VP.....
...not in a million years.

This is smoke to make America think McCain is seriously thinking about it.

19. True but the concept of 'Considering Powell as VP' is to try and take...
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 12:22 PM by LynneSin
some sting off the Biden nomination. Dems are getting alot of positive buzz with the nomination but will eventually wear off. By dropping the Powell tidbit is just a way of Repukes trying to kill some of that buzz.

15. Bumper sticker: I Lie and My Lai
Colin Powell is truly despicable. The UN presentation was one of the most dastardly set of bald-faced lies ever told to justify imperial conquest.

16. Oh come on, this is from Politico -- which is nothing more than Drudge dressed in a better suit.
This rumor is being floated strictly to give the McCain campaign a little buzz because Obama got all the attention this week.

It has no basis in reality, whatsoever.

They could just as well say that "Pope Benedict is being considered for McCain's VP slot" -- just cuz they say it doesn't make it real.
