George Steph leads with "freudian slip" and actually
expects a thorough answer to the charge from Axelrod. I really wish it was Dean on today. WTF? What a disgusting tool George is!

1. I think the entire notion of "Freudian slip" has been debunked by
advances in neuroscience and our understanding of how the brain processes information.

10. "Freudian slip" is a gaff. Frued theorized it was the buried thoughts of the speaker coming out
Today it is used like a slang for gaff. The pedant above is correct however officious in the point being made.

13. Since the concept of a Freudian slip posits an unconscious
It would be remarkable indeed if empirical neuroscientific experiments COULD "debunk" it.

14. Neuroscience has shown that speech is a very complex act with words coming from one
brain center and muscle control from another, etc. We make dozens of mistakes a day, but just notice the ones that are really odd or seem to have meaning.

19. I'm aware of the research in neuroscience on these phenomena
But the Freudian unconscious can be "measured" only as an effect, and those would INCLUDE the empirical effects observed by positivist neuroscience. We can take that or leave it, but neuroscience does not "debunk" it.

3. When Obama was introducing Biden, he said "The nex president...
the next Vice President..."

George asks if that's a sign that Obama is not the right person to be at the top of the ticket.

6. I used to think that my mother was not the right person for the job...
...of being my mother for that very same reason (she called me by my brother's name), when I was a little whiny kid. After a while, I was able to realize that I knew who I was. Later, I was able to overcome my shame over that and move on with my life...

I heard Biden say how he was surprised how well he could take a punch in one of his speeches yesterday. I think he can handle this "freudian slip". I see the mainstream media needs to get a thicker skin.
