On MTP, just asked about the tribute to her Uncle Ted at the convention. She mentioned that Ken Burns (among others) did an excellent job putting the video together. I will not miss it. BTW, I'm watching episodes 4 & 5 of The Civil War this afternoon.

2. Burns' Civil War film is outstanding.

If high schools are not using this as required viewing for their students, we're all the less for it.

I'll look forward to the Ted Kennedy film.

3. This is my third time watching Burns' Civil War

I'll watch it again next go-around. He's brilliant.

4. Burns lays out the whole landscape and you come away from each

episode feeling that Lincoln's burden was enormous.

The Lewis and Clark work that Burns did is also top-drawer.

8. Friends on Cape Cod say that Ted is not doing well. The word is

that the treatments have not worked. Very little press about him these days. It's nice to see the press respecting his privacy.

I hope he makes it to the election to see Obama win. I wondered when he taped that message so early, before the VP pick was known. My prayers are with you Ted, the best to your family.
