Overheard at work today:
Biden will be the President cuz 'someone' is going to (finger-point like a gun) Obama.

So, I asked these 'customers' : Are you going to be the ones who do this?

No way, they answered, but someone will and then we'll be stuck with Biden.

So, I asked innocently: Before or after election day or before or after inauguration?

Only answer: McShame is going to win anyway so it really doesn't matter.

Response: Since it doesn't matter, then why are you talking about an assasination attempt on the Democratic nominee?

I got the feeling they will cheer the death of our candidate.

Damn, what has this country become?

15. Yes he did, but
it shouldn't have been close enough for him to be able to. What mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, inbred sheep would vote for that ass? If even 30% of our country did so, we are in sorry shape.

3. There used to be a thing
called shame in this country - but no more.
What galls me is that people like that think everyone else thinks like they do.

7. In McShame country AZ
Retirement area of southern AZ

Although, I have seen more Obama bumperstickers than McShame, but that's because the people don't show their support, they just always vote for the Repukes.

Love the area, strong dislike of this area's political composition.

10. I work in a restaurant/bar situation
No human resources and for the most part, it's the alcohol talking. But when you hear that type of drivel, one wonders about the rest of the area's population which is very conservative.

14. I've found the most conservative jackasses at bars
The alcohol loosens their tongues and they talk shit. I've stopped hanging places where people can't stop talking their shit. Sorry you have to put up with that crap.

6. Ask what our country has remained.

Lots of folks cheered JFK's assassination. They just didn't make the news in the pre-cable era. And God knows what was said in some households when MLK was hit.

(In full disclosure, I have to admit that my reaction when Reagan was shot wasn't the model of class.)

11. It happened when Kennedy was killed
We lived in a very Republican part of IL. I remember my Dad coming home. He was appalled by the comments made by people he worked with. He said that he didn't particularly like Kennedy but found people cheering at his assassination horrifying.

I was 14 at the time and I remember that so clearly. Looks like these people passed on their hate to the next generation.

13. Bah - it's just right-wing redneck style bravado
People that talk like that are just that - talkers.

If a person is to be offed, a group will recruit a mentally unstable hitman as they did in the past. It won't be one of those cowardly bone-heads you were talking to though.

16. It's not just rednecks and repugs who talk about the possibility
of an assassination.

Many blacks worry about it. Some are certain that it will be attempted:

Or his millions of mobilized, motivated voters.
