Let's hear from pre-primary Biden supporters
I seem to personally recall a scant selection of Biden avatars during the time before Obama/Clinton clash began, but surely DU has dozens if not more Biden backers that have posted here.

What are your thoughts on your favorite candidate becoming the man in the news as the NYT puts it, and who secondly who did ya'll transition to when Biden left the race on January 3rd? Curious minds want to know.

1. I wasn't, but I know one.
He was pissed that he gave more money to Biden on the day before Biden dropped his bid, so he feels vindicated now.

3. I have a Clark avatar but Biden was my guy in the primaries
When he dropped out I drifted for quite a long time before settling on a candidate. I now wholeheartedly support Obama/Biden. It's hard not to feel strong emotions when these guys talk. They are the good our country needs desperately!

5. Biden Watcher
I have always thought Biden would be good for the Obama
ticket. He was the only Demo candidate talking strong borders.

6. Like Joe,
we didn't readily commit, agreeing that the nominee would be supported. We stayed loyal to Joe. He's our cupcake. This is frosting.

7. Biden was my guy in the primaries.
I liked him a lot, and I supported him knowing full well that he had no chance in hell of getting the nomination - Clinton, Edwards and Obama were just WAY too strong. He's got an absolutely brilliant mind, and after 8 years of Dipshit W. Bush, we need the smartest mofo we can find in the Oval. He's got a bad case of foot-in-mouth syndrome, but that's still better than having a guy who can't finish a freaking sentence. And, after seeing the way the primaries turned out, I'm overjoyed at the ticket we have - not only do we have one of the smartest people in the party on the ticket - we've got two of them.

8. Biden was my first pick
But I knew he probably wouldn't make it, Obama was originally my back up till i got to know him better and fell in love. Joe still would have had my vote if he had a shot in my caucus. Sadly he was already out by then :(

So today for me I get my dream ticket and its freaking awesome!

9. We couldn't be happier. I went to Clinton after Biden dropped out.
When she dropped out I began to feel like I was a curse :P

But, I am a Democrat and almost immediately began to support Obama.

Now I am convinced that we could not have a better ticket than we have now.
Obama and Biden are the perfect combination.

10. I've been a Biden fan since 1972..........
when I was working for McGovern for president. Then a guy named Joe, my own age suddenly appeared on the scene and I never stopped watching him.

During the endless run-up to the primaries last year, as you can see from my avatar, I was hoping Wes Clark would come in. I was involved with Clark since the Draft Clark days in 2003. When Wes didn't run, I supported Biden and then moved to Richardson. By the time Texas voted, it was Hillary or Obama. I am not an Obama fan, so I moved to Hillary, but I'll admit, by that time, the only thing that made my decision was I'm an old feminist.

Now, I still don't care for Obama, but Biden will make voting so much easier to swallow. In fact, now I look forward to casting my ballot, something I was going to do, as it seems I end up doing so often, because I always vote a Democratic ticket. Now, I'll be voting for Joe!

12. I didn't decide on a "new" candidate until Super Tuesday -- and only
because my best friend was asking who he should vote for. He was flying from Seattle to LA, and when he got on the plane, I said -- I just don't know. I like Clinton because.... BUT .... And I like Obama because.....BUT...
During the time of that flight I decided to go for Obama. So I called my BFF to tell him "Obama" but he'd already voted for Clinton.

I wasn't thrilled with him, otherwise he would have been my first choice. But when I began looking at him through a lens other than "Biden opponent" I became more and more comfortable with him, and confident of my choice.

It was a process. I'd never been as sure of a candidate as I was about Biden, so I wasn't able to just switch my loyalties easily. I must say, Obama earned them.

As the saying goes around here, I think we have the two smartest mother fuckers in the room!

17. Voted for Biden
in the primary.
We also had caucuses but I could not make it that day. I would have voted for Biden but it would have been scratched from the tally because he would have gotten under the 15% required.
Really glad he is the choice.
