Did MSNBC can Dan Abrams?
I see that Rachel Maddow is taking over the Abrams spot. So happy. Now if they would only get rid of Joe Scarborough. He is such a loser. Might want to get rid of David Gregory while they are at it.

1. Dan Abrams was running things

it seems like he made the decision.

17. No, he didn't make the decision. He hasn't been general manager at MSNBC for a while.
But his show being canned doesn't mean he is. He'll be used in other ways. He'll be anchoring convention coverage during part of the day, for example.

3. I think they should replace Gregory with Abrams......
Gregory's show, Race for the White House will be over in November, unless they reformat it somehow. The election will be over then so the race will be over.

Then they could give Abrams his old time slot! I've always liked Abrams...well, except when he was obsessing over Scott Peterson, etc But mostly I think he has a good show. And this recent show Verdict was even better than his original show!

18. I like Gregory as a journalist........
...but I have never actually enjoyed his show. I don't know if it's him or the format or what. It's one of those shows I will watch if nothing else is on.....

I think Abrams could do so much better in that time slot.......

9. After November they're going to rename Gregory's show to...
"What the Fuck are They Trying to Impeach Him Over This Week"? It will mostly be a comedy show, with occasional updates on troop withdrawals and progress in restoring the Bill of Rights.

4. I liked Dan Abrams okay, the person they should have canned was Gregory (& everyone, at least here)
knows it.

15. I have a feeling they want to but gregory must have
some kind of contract and since he is doing a show for the race, maybe contract is until the end of election time in nov...

thats my guess. i would rather have had dan too.

7. I think Abrams was general manager during a shake up..
and is more geared to working behind the scenes,
and official legal stuff rather than a 'showmeister.'

8. I get the feeling that he prefers to stick to the legal reporting
And was just holding the place until they figured something else out.

That's purely speculation on my part though - of course.

12. Gregory became a huge disappointment
He started out at WH press conferences trying to put Bush's feet to the fire and asked some good questions. But as Bush played the press like a fiddle Gregory backed off and became a syncophant. Culminated with his little dance on the stage with Rove at that press corps event. He just kept going downhill and is a Repug hack in his MSNBC show now.

16. I loved Abrams. And this is irrelevant, but ... he's HOT.
I was always amazed that someone so young could be in charge of things. Abrams deserves his own show, but maybe he can actually exert more power behind the scenes.
