I need your advice and input!!!

I had a work meeting with my PAC today. We're in NH and we're gearing up for the election. One of the ideas we were kicking around was doing some signs. In 2006 we went after Republican Congressman Charlie Bass and had yard signs done saying "Stop BASS, Stop the WAR". Bass lost and people are still talking about those signs.

This time we are thinking of doing two signs:

"John McCain (with the Cain struck and the word SAME added)
Voted 95% with BUSH"

For the second sign we thought we'd get a huge blow up of the Bush/McCain embrace.

We'd plan to have stand outs with both signs.

What do you folks think of this? Effective?

Any other ideas would be most appreciated!

They are relatively simple, and use visual images in a powerful way.

4. I prefer the image of the Bush/McCain embrace just because "a picture is worth 1,000 words"

The whole idea of making puns with McCain's name is a bit tired though and might come off seeming a bit campy. I don't know-- it always goes over well with our base but I don't know if it gives off the right image to independents. I think it would feed the whole idea of partisan bickering that we are trying to avoid-- I mean we are fighting the Republicans, but we should fight them on the issues and not trivial stuff like this.

What would be more effective is if you just wrote "McCain/Bush" and "Voted 95% with Bush" At least, that's my opinion.

6. How about the picture of McCain/Bush during Katrina with b-day cake,

with words saying something like McCain/Bush ignoring Katrina or something? Katrina was a defining moment for many and McCain has been saying he was there working with the people of NOLA, well we know better....

7. Interesting you mention that . We were looking at that one and

wondering whether there would be too much explaining to do (in text) to get the point across. Many people will be driving by these signs so the message has to be simple and fast.

"Bush/McCain During Katrina". I will pass this idea on.

Like a headline but the picture is them with cake, laughing it up...I think people will connect it.

Bush Economic Progress? Maybe use the cover of Architectural Digest he was on






same idea for jobs, national debt, real wages etc etc etc
