My dad had a massive aneurysm back in 1986. He's still working part time as a manufacturer's rep. He is compiling a family genealogy complete with stories and keep track of all the relatives. Oh, and my son that was born two months after Dad's attack? Dad is taking him out in the evenings and teaching him how to drive.

1. about ten years ago
I was at a party and one of my buds had an aneurysm bust.

He was dead a few minutes before we knew anything was wrong.

No one knew.He was just kinda sitting there and we thought he was just drunk and he had died.

Shit happens

2. Don't I know it. My dad's sister was pulling a sheet of cookies
out of the oven and was dead before she hit the floor. On the other hand, his Mom had an aneurysm back in the 50's and recovered just fine, teaching herself how to drive again. I had a brain scan a few years back and am religious about taking my anti-hypertensive.

3. Yeah, my Mom had two cerebral aneurysms a few years ago.
She had brain surgery to get them clipped, and after she recovered, she was perfectly fine.

4. Glad to hear your father recovered.
I think many are concerned after the death of Rep. Tubbs Jones. My only concern with Biden was the past health issue but I trust he and his family discussed it (along with a doctor) and all lights are go.

5. My grandfather had a massive aneurysm and stroke...
before I was born. It partially paralyzed his right side (arm, leg, mouth) so he has a tough time walking and speaking, but he has continued on 25+ years later. He's now in a nursing home, but it's due to other health problems (he is 86 going on 87 later this year). He continued driving up until around 3 years ago in fact. He learned how to do everything left-handed, despite being right-handed naturally. He was a mechanic at NASA, and after having the aneurysm/stroke, he retired but continued helping people fix mechanical things around their houses.

6. I guess it all depends on where exactly the aneurysm is, and if they catch it in time.
Many people aren't aware they even have one, until it blows up. Such was apparently the case with Stephanie Tubbs Jones. I believe Biden has credited the fact that he had to drop out of the 88 race with saving his life, because, had he continued campaigning, he wouldn't have seen a doctor, and would have likely died as a result.

7. Coincidentally... I just posted the following in another thread.
Faux interviewed a neurosurgeon an hour or so ago and asked about aneurysms. The man confirmed that once they're repaired the probability of recurrence is negligible. She asked about Cheney's heart attacks and he said "Now that's an issue that stays with you forever". She ended that interview rather hastily. I laughed. BTW, don't tell anybody I was watching Faux. I caught hell here for that yesterday.
