Poll question: You pick the next big McCain scandal:
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 01:59 PM by hedgehog
Supposedly, his budget for household staffing is $273,000.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/209623.php

That sounds like a lot, but consider what is being taken care of:

Sedona, Arizona: 15 acre "ranch" plus guest house and servants' quarters

Phoenix: two adjacent condos

Phoenix: 7000 sq ft condo for his daughter

Coronado, Calif.: another condominium

La Jolla, Calif., 1 condo, maybe 2

Arlington, Va.: another condominium

Maybe the cost of the landscapers at the ranch is filed under a different line, but still.

Whether they hire people directly or use a service, all those places have to be dusted and have the kitchens stocked on a regular basis. I suspect neither Cindy nor John do much cooking. Someone has to run the laundry. How many full-timers is that?

So, will the next scandal be when we find out that:

5. Some of his condo's are "owned" by the McCains' limited liability corporation
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 06:09 PM by rainbow4321
SO what I would like to know...why?? IS there some sort of tax avoidance clause? Does it allow these condo's to be handed down to his kids with no inheritance taxes, etc.. Has the M$M bothered to report anything about the LLC setups?

And has anyone looked into these corporations to see what else they own/cover, etc...
Here are the names of the LLC's:

http://www.thestreet.com/story/10345319/5/picking-apart-mccains-stock-portfolio.html

McCain has seven children, three of which are from a previous marriage. He discloses that his dependent children have millions of dollars in assets through a long series of JPMorgan mutual funds and a series of limited liability corporations with names like Wild Creek Enterprises LLC, Dream Catcher Family LLC, Wild River LLC and Wild Rapids LLC.

"These are independent investment vehicles that people often use to pass on wealth to their children in a way that has tax advantages and other protections," says Hviid. "They probably come from Cindy McCain's parents."

7. List of his assets
Interesting...lists a couple Medical Plaza's in Arizona. But when you go to the Plazas' website pdf's, no mention of the McCain family at all.

http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/CIDsummary.php?CID=N00006424&year=2005

Estrella Medical Plaza LLC $150,002 to $350,000

Princess Medical Center $50,001 to $100,000

And from 2 of his LLC's

Wild Rapids LLC/Checking $1,001 to $15,000
Wild River LLC/Checking $1,001 to $15,000
