Which candidate is likely to appoint a woman and/or pro women Supreme Court Justice
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 11:18 AM by nomad1776
I know there are many women that are disappointed by the choice of Biden. The important thing to consider is which candidate is likely to put another one or more women on the Supreme Court? McSexist or Obama?

1. Makes no difference.
There are plenty of right-wing women to choose from too.

2. How many women were on the SC before Bush took over and how many
now?

3. Depends on the politics of the woman.
Women aren't monolithic in their outlook. Personally, I would like to see HRC on the court but don't know if that's her cup of tea.

4. Can we rephrase this? Which candidate is more likely to appoint a pro-woman
candidate to the SCOTUS?

Obviously Obama--and Janet Napolitano would be an INCREDIBLE choice, plus she has the bonus of being a woman.

5. The important thing is to consider how we're going to win the election.
Everything else is secondary.

9. There are many women that are angry or dissappointed that Hillary wasn't picked
it's important to remind them there are other key positions of power in this Country. Ones that are just as important to have women properly represented.

12. Get over it.
Lets see, they can vote for a guy that called his ex wife a cunt or they can vote for a guy who's running mate sponsered the Violence Against Womens Act. Women are smart enough to figure it out.

8. Excellent point.
McCain has touted himself as the most "pro-life" senator there is. He'll be using Roe as a litmus test for Supreme Court Justices, while Obama will appoint judges that support women's rights. because it's just a matter of common sense.

11. It's a good question.

But the post is a little bit condescending. You are, basically, telling any women who are disappointed that Obama did not choose a woman to "buck up" and be grateful, as well as insinuating that their disappointment would lead them to choose McCain instead of Obama. Seriously, wtf?

Personally, I didn't even consider being upset over any choice of Obama's that would at least not be one of the ones that is weak on gay civil equality. But, now that you put it that way, it certainly WOULD have been nice for him to have chosen a person who represents more than HALF the population of this country. But, sigh, I guess we're not there yet.

I like Biden. Obama/Biden is a good ticket. I fully EXPECT them to appoint a female supreme court justice, since we are UNDER-REPRESENTED in the highest court in the land.

14. Why? Sandra Day O'Connor was the Head Traitor 2000. Plus, I'm looking for a Liberal; if that

INCLUDES being for women's rights, then the answer is of course the Democrat.
