Biden's pro-labor. I like that A LOT. He always has been, too. It's time to put labor protections in the forefront again, IMHO. Biden's the guy who can do it. From "On the Issues"

No job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Aug 2007)

Implement current recommendations on job safety. (Aug 2007) Bush and the republkicans wanted badly to roll them back--this was a crucial vote for labor issues)

Couldn't afford living at minimum wage; advocates raising it. (Jul 2007)

Bush tries to strip away 100 years of labor progress. (Mar 2007) This refers to point 2. above.

Voted YES on overriding presidential veto of Farm Bill. (Jun 2008)

Voted NO on terminating legal challenges to English-only job rules. (Mar 2008)

Voted YES on restricting employer interference in union organizing. (Jun 2007)

Voted YES on increasing minimum wage to $7.25. (Feb 2007)

Voted YES on raising the minimum wage to $7.25 rather than $6.25. (Mar 2005)

Voted NO on repealing Clinton's ergonomic rules on repetitive stress. (Mar 2001)

Voted NO on killing an increase in the minimum wage. (Nov 1999)

Voted NO on allowing workers to choose between overtime & comp-time. (May 1997) This was one of the Republicans "pretty name to screw those most affected" memes.

Voted YES on replacing farm price supports. (Feb 1996)

Protect overtime pay protections. (Jun 2003)

Rated 100% by the AFL-CIO, indicating a pro-union voting record. (Dec 2003)

Allow an Air Traffic Controller's Union. (Jan 2006)

Labor has the bulldog it needs and Biden can swing many Senate votes since he's well-respected and liked. None of the choices ws perfect nor completely flawed, but I like the direction Obama chose with Biden.
