Faux News Report
Kerry campaign has said that in Iowa Kerry supporters are getting calls from Dean Campaign that Kerry's cancer has returned.

This report by Carl Cameron; since it's faux news I don't know how much credence to give it.

Is anyone familiar with this story? I hope it's not true; if it is, this is as bad as South Carolina 2000, when Bush people said McCain's cancer was terminal.

2. Someone Needs To Get To The Bottom of This Right Away

I can't believe that any human being would say this about another human being - so it definitely has to be the republicans at work.

3. This has Turd Blossom written all over it
Straight from the Rove playbook used in South Carolina. None of our Dem candidates are this sleazzy, not even Joe Lieberman.

4. This doesn't make any sense.
People identifying themselves as Dean campaigners are spreading a blatant lie? One they know can be refuted instantly? Making Dean look worse than Kerry? Somehow I doubt the Dean campaign knows anything about this.

6. Exactly.
Hey, I'm a Dean supporter and I'm calling to let you know Kerry has cancer again.

My ass.

But remember, Kerry believes Dean has no support and they're all made up.

5. It doesn't make sense
Why would the Dean campaign attack Kerry in Iowa? He's in third place.

I think this is Kerry's desperation hour and he is trying to slander Dean as a slanderer. That way it justifies his attacking Dean without mercy.

7. Outrageous and A New Low
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 06:36 PM by Justice

Faux said it was Kerry people who said this - and you believe Faux?

Neither Dean nor Kerry are my first pick as candidates. However, I assumed immediately this was the work of republicans. I don't believe that either Dean or Kerry would do anything like this.

For you to assume it is Kerry - this digusting bit of trash is Kerry and then to say he is doing it out of desparation/to slander Dean is a new low.

Edited to add first sentence.

10. There is no link on Fox web
They reported this story, but there is no proof.

Someone should get the truth from Kerry camp & if it is wrong, Fox should be exposed as liars.

11. Where's your link for this? You shouldn't print a horrible rumor
like this without a link. It could cost Kerry votes, and you don't want to do that, do you? I'm not a Kerry supporter, but stories such as this are dangerous.

12. I posted the story to see if anyone had info
& I posted that it was Fox, & questionable.

I don't have a dog in this fight; I am not supporting Dean or Kerry.

I think it shows what Fox reports & they should be called on their reporting if it is false. If this was planted by Rove, it should be exposed.

Last election Everyone sat back & let Gore get massacred by the press. We should not let it happen this time. If the press is spreading lies we should raise a fuss: call them , email them, post it on web sites.

Part of the ability to win the election will be to try to keep the media fair; if we can't do that it will be 2000 all over again.

16. total BS
If Kerry was presenting a real threat to Dean - which he ain't right now (sorry) then this would make some kind of twisted sense - not that I'd believe it. Jeebus, you can say what you want about Dean (and many of you have) but the man is a doctor, fer Gawd's sake. He KNOWS the pain of cancer victims and their families. NO FREAKIN' WAY he'd do this. But even putting all that aside, Dean doesn't NEED to do this kind of thing against Kerry cuz right now he's beating him fair and square.

I see this as the beginning of Rove dirty tricks and I am sick to my stomach.

17. My guess is either Rove or Faux just made it up
No campaign would call and say hey we're the Dean campaign to let you know Kerry has cancer. That's utter bullshit.

This has Republican written all over it. They should be ashamed.
