Wes Clark for NSA.

I WAS thinking John Edwards for Dept of Labor or AG until his personal difficulties arose, but who knows maybe he can still have a role.

I think they'll probably give Hillary Senate Majority Leader as a concession.

1. I'm sure Richardson will have a position, but Clark's absence from the convention...
...tells me there must be more to the Obama-Clark relationship than we've heard.

5. I bet Obama was really P.O.'d when Clark made those McCain war
prisoner comments. NOT because he didn't agree - but because it
wasn't a more controlled message.

Despite Clark's brilliance - he may not be very likeable on a personal
level? I heard someone say that "everyone who ever worked for him hates him."

But, I do wonder - if Clark hadn't jumped on the Clinton bandwagon - what
might have been.

2. Good picks... I would so like to see Rubin in Treasury...
...but he might be a little too controversial.

Fortunately, we have lots and lots of talent to work with.

happily,

8. I still see Hillary on the Supreme Court.
I think she would gladly accept it and would make a fine addition to SCOTUS.

9. I think you keep Hillary in the Senate..
I just don't think she and Obama would have a productive working relationship within the White House.

7. I'd like to see Clark in a position
where he has control over the Pentagon budget.

In '04, he and Kucinich were the only candidates who would dare address the Military Industrial Complex.

especially with Obama and Kerry in his corner. Senate majority leader is not a concession prize.

I don't remember whether Richard Holbroke is liked of disliked by camp Obama, but that general KIND of Sec State would be best if Biden is VP. A top-tier technocrat rather than another politician.

Clark would be okay.

20. Maybe we ought to try winning the election first ....
Something about counting chickens before they're hatched ...

Biden's an OK choice, I suppose (and no, I'm not a PUMA type), but really, it was rather predictable and not particularly daring. I'm just not that excited about it. Two sitting Senators on the ticket, one of whom is a LONG-TIME Beltway insider with a propensity to shoot off his mouth. Whoopeeeeeeeee.
