First statement from McCain camp is derogatory - no traditional congratulations - nt
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 01:11 AM by democrat2thecore
From MSNBC: The McCain camp was quick to react. "There has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama's lack of experience than Joe Biden. Biden has denounced Barack Obama's poor foreign policy judgment and has strongly argued in his own words what Americans are quickly realizing - that Barack Obama is not ready to be president," McCain spokesman Ben Porritt said early Saturday morning.

4. As another poster said earlier,
Biden will just say "Obama has proven himself and he proved me wrong."

Done.

9. Ouch, and what an ass-inspired campaign. They are scared.
Good. So McBush better not pick Romney because of their wild words to each other. Pick Pawlenty, who loves Obama!

Classless, overreaching, pointless, and nasty. Just what we've come to expect from McSame.

13. Don't worry.
This kind of thing is why Biden is such a good choice. He will answer it and make it blow up in their faces. Then he will counter-attack with something a lot worse than this about McCain.

14. To which Biden could say:
"At the time I said that, I saw that as true. But having watched him in action over the past year of this brutal campaign I have come to believe he is as ready as ANY person can be before actually taking office."

End of discussion.

That said, count me as one who doesn't mind their negative ads. Don't get me wrong, I think it's highly effective in certain situations. Two of those being at the start of a race you are WAY behind in, and in the CLOSING WEEKS of a tight campaign in which you are TIED.

I'm not sure McCain's sustained negativity is going to wear well for the next 9 weeks on the public. I think sustained negativity has a cumulative effect on voters after a certain point. There's a danger of an "okay, we get it" kind of moment with some voters. And because their campaign appears to be seeing some benefit in that strategy, they will only be encouraged to continue in that direction. . Unfortunately for them, by the time they realize they've made a huge mistake it's too late.

The negativity might feel good for Camp McCain right now, but ultimately I think it will only feed the image of McCain as a grumpy and sickly old man with a bad temper, not some maverick you'd like to have a beer with.

16. I was worried about this, but I don't think this'll be the "decapitating" moment the Repugs
are looking for. They're scared, and trying to reach.

17. This is based on years ago Biden said something about experience
and it was also brought up in a debate early on.
