All those that support Joe Biden for VP Post Here....
YAY Joe.

Love you and Obama for the guts to pick a guy from a state with no electoral votes.

Gutsy move by a gutsy candidate.

Nothing but love for Barack and Joe.

This reminds me of the feeling I had in 92 when Clinton picked Gore. We're gonna win.

Now that it is official, YAY!!! The only way it could have been better is the ticket reversed, but this is also great.

23. I have no problem with this ticket

and can support it wholeheartedly. Apparently there was a leak while I was out tonight, but I have to say I really admire the way the campaign was able to keep the news locked up as long as they did. I was really hoping for Clark, but perhaps they have something else in mind for him.

From what I've seen of Sen. Biden he's definitely a fighter, and it should be a calming influence to those worried about BO's lack of experience. Obama/Biden '08 ... yep, I can get behind that.

He was quite entertaining during the primaries - not a stick in the mudd like some old-time senators.

He's tough and he appeals to older and young voters alike.

46. I was convinced of one thing for certain and after tonight, now two....
Obama will wipe up the floor with mcsame in the debates and will turn the poll numbers into a landslide, culminating into victory numbers in November and Biden will obliterate any VP opponent mccain chooses for him to go up against.

WE'VE GOT A GREAT TICKET AND THE WINNING TEAM IN NOVEMBER!

that VP debate will be stronger for us than in 2004 (Edwards did reasonably well), and incredibly stronger than Lieberman's awful performance in 2000.

My only (minor) disappointment is that I kinda wanted Obama to come up with a GREAT but totally unexpected pick, to show up the media's idiocy. (That would have been sweet.) But it's more important that we have a good veep on the ticket, and I think Biden is an excellent choice, so I'm happy!

R's will have to spend a boat load of money in PA to counter this pick. The PA media market is very expensive too.
Color PA blue this fall!

88. Hey we have three electoral votes!!
And three counties!

Those three votes were probably Obama's anyway, so you're right.

But nowadays state pride isn't enough, so I think they were right to pick a good campaigner rather than hope to get one particular state with a pick aimed at that.

120. Am coming up to speed
on who Joe Biden is, and from everything I read (bad and good), I think this was a pretty wise move. In fact, the more I learn about Biden (gaffes included), Obama has used his brain again, no matter what the temporary initial fallout is over the choice (unlike McCain, who doesn't have one to use).

I haven't found much yet about Biden that I loathe; and many things that are pretty good - isn't afraid to speak his mind, has been around the block experience wise but is not a typical insider (takes the train, doesn't do lobbyists, has been in the know but stayed outside the corruption track), heard he is okay on the environment, and so on. And he will be the go to man to attack McCain's stupidity and silliness, so that we don't have to hear a certain segment of america bitching about that "angry young black man" - yeah, that characterization pisses me off too, but you know if Obama properly were to knock the snot out of McCain, as he richly deserves, that is all we'd hear about, and it would set back his personal goals of taking the higher ground.

So he's picked what appears to be a tough minded, been through personal fire, stayed on course with his moral compass kind of white guy who can simply knock the stuffing out of McCain, as needed, yet be kind and diplomatic where it is called for as well. Yeah, he has positions I may not agree with, but so does Obama. And I still think of our two choices, Obama is the right man for the times. Feeling the same way about this Biden guy.

Not bad.

125. Not gutsy. Just smart and realistic. What a nice change.
I don't need a President who's all about symbols, spin. I don't need a president who needs to be lauded for his willingness to take risks and go with his gut. There is just a lot of work to do. No-drama continues to not make it all about himself, but instead just gets right down to the hard work of building a solid campaign. Loves it.

I am a liberal who is wary of where the Democratic Party has gone. Between all the moderate and conservative Democrats in Congress and even a lack of leadership in a liberal like Pelosi, I have been very disappointed. I really did not like Obama's FISA vote, and still hold a very sore spot with Biden's bankruptcy vote.

But what some don't realize is that, it's only with a Democrat in the White House that we have any chance of turning Bush's damage around. And there are still clear contrasts - who they would select for the Supreme Court, choice, health care, the environment, not having a unitary executive, etc.

Biden rounds out Obama's ticket with experience and an attack dog sensibility. He has a working class ethic that should help solidify our base. Even though Schweitzer was one of my top 3, I was concerned his strengths were too similar to Obama's.

136. And the fewest interstate highways miles of all states
"Love you and Obama for the guts to pick a guy from a state with no electoral votes."
Delaware is also known for receiving very little benefit from the National Highway System. Just 95 goes through its northern tip, and two auxillary highways take you a only a little further south. It has the fewest total miles of all the states. (D.C. has fewer total miles.) (http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/reports/routefinder/table3.htm) There is no interstate highway that reaches its capital city, Dover. This is true of only 4 other states. They are AK, MO, NV and SD.

Why is this significant? Delaware makes up for its lack of national highways by building an excellent state highway network accommodating both local traffic and an absurdly bloated tractor-trailer traffic problem. On the other hand, Ted Stevens builds a bridge to nowhere.

171. Absolutely! I'm so happy that Biden is the choice.
As the primaries were getting close, I checked out the candidates and Biden was my choice for President. I think he has so much going for him. He will complement Obama very well.

177. To bad Obama can't seal the deal without old Joe Biden.
The crusty old time Washington insider who votes with the needs of credit card companies and is nothing more than a self promoter.Wait and see pretty soon it will be O'Biden who is running for President.
