***1986 World Series, Game Six, who remembers Buckner?***
I remember the credits were rolling and announcers were certain it was over, the whole damn series was over, people were leaving the bleachers to return to their cars.

The Boston Red Sox had won the 1986 World Series.

But, with two outs at the bottom of the tenth, Buckner let that ball go right between his legs and everything changed.

Instead of the Red Sox winning it right there, the Mets won, it went to game seven and the Mets won the series.

So, CNN, democratic sources....we shall see.

We shall see.

1. I was in a bar in Orlando and pulling for the Mets. A guy standing in front of
me at the bar started high-fiving his buddies and buying everyone drinks.

I said, "Hey pal, this game isn't over yet."

He said, "It's all over but the cryin'"...

When the ball went between Buckner's legs I looked at him and said, "Looks like you'll be the one doing the crying."

That was a sweet, sweet night!

3. It really happened that way, and I'm not even a sports fan,
but I was a new yorker working in Boston at the time and just happened to have the game on TV.

Unforgettable, just like this election season!
