thumb his nose at everybody (including the MSM) by saying, he (Biden) won't get me any electoral votes, but he is the best man for the job.

I love Barack Obama.

3. Yeah, they've loved Biden ever since he said "Bullshit!" after hearing about Bush's fucking
platitudes in response to the uproar about the appeasement crap. To tell the truth, I've loved him since too. Although I still really really want Clark as VP.

11. I liked Clark too.
But Biden is a well rounded choice. I hope to see both Clinton and Clark in the new administration. < Yes, I'm being optimistic.

9. As a conservative Jew, he's an honorary Floridian.
Joe was supposed to get the Jewish vote, which could have given Gore Florida.

15. What's that got to do with it?
You questioned the rationale for picking Lieberman - I gave it.

If not for the fucked up ballots that had 20% of the retired Jews voting for the Nazi Buchanan, Florida would have been solidly for Gore. Which would have made Tenessee and its (what, 10?) electoral votes moot.

That extra 14 electoral votes wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

Are you really serious? LOL.

35. Huh?
Taking lieberman (you claim) cost him Tenessee's 11. It gained him Florida's 25 (at least, would have had Florida not been stolen out from under him.).

The lost 11 would have made no difference, because Florida would have given him the election.

WTF are you saying? I think you are just being pissy about Gore and have no rational argument to make.

25. The media assassinated Al Gore's character
for his indirectly pointing out that the Chimp was a shallow idiot. Remember, Al won the popular vote by more that 600,000 votes and a Reagan/Bush I SCOTUS appointed the Chimpenfuhrer "president".

13. There is an argument that Biden could help pull Florida.
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/08/cnn-its-biden.html

His favorable numbers were best among older voters, which Florida has in spades. It also probably puts Pennsylvania in the bag, if it wasn't already. And, of course, his presence answers the "experience" question, without a doubt.

21. Not exactly.
Biden's pull with older voters is particularly suited to Obama, because he fills the one hole in Obama's resume - extensive, practical, foreign policy experience. Biden can point to specific things he's done in the past week, month, year, decade, that have made the country safer and improved diplomatic relations. "Any old geezer" can't do that, nor can that hypothetical geezer bring Biden's attacking skills to the table.

I'm convinced Biden delivered the death blow to Giuliani, for example, with his "noun, verb, and 9/11" line, and I'd love to see what he has in store for McSame and his apparent VP choice, Multiple Choice Mitt.

31. Almost everybody in Congress and the Senate voted to get us in the war!
I tend to be an antiwar type in the way of Jiddhu Krishnamurti. And even I was convinced that the invasion of Iraq was possibly necessary since Hillary Clinton and many others stood together. Like most, I figured they all knew what I didn't.

Anybody who starts bashing Biden is a PUMA for sure. We should be glad, not tearing down our own candidates! GRRRRRRRR!!!!

but Joe is a fine choice and will take it to McCainus with a vengeance. Pro-choice, pro-union, a foreign policy wonk and former chair of the Judiciary Committee. Obama/Biden '08. I am there All the way.

27. WHY can't the Clarkies not accept that.....
he could be a major asset in the cabinet in a Joint Chief of Staff position or even SoD? Why has it always HAD to be VP?

Clark has been a good friend of the Clintons and it was a hard fought campaign.

If there is one thing I know about Obama, he will be fair and put the best people he can field to surround himself with in his cabinet.

Don't count Clark out just yet. He's just not gonna be VP.

26. Obama deserves a lot of credit for choosing Biden
Joe is a man one can easily see as president, a bulldog of a campaigner, a foreign policy and constitutional law expert and a thoroughly decent guy, even if all of his votes in 36 years in the Senate don't pass my or other DUers' muster. By and large, he is an excellent pick and will make a great VP.

Obama/Biden 2008!
