Flashback: Bush over Gore 50/42 on October 8, 2000
Keep this in mind in regards to the LA Times poll and any other polls which may soon come out giving the Chimp a lead. In 2000, the polls were notoriously wrong. On October 8, 2000 Gallup gave Bush a 8-point lead less than a month before the election. LA Times in Late September, 2000 gave Bush a six point 48/42 lead.

The polls right up to the election in 2000 with the exception of Zogby and CBS were on the whole predicting a Bush victory. Who won the popular vote (and electoral vote?)?

2. I am ignoring polls until the debates are over
After that I am optimistic our guy is going to leave Bush in a cloud of dust.
