I can't stand Evan Bayh (a sentiment I suspect that others share), and Virginia needs Tim Kaine more than Obama does, IMHO. Decent Democratic governors don't come around often in Virginia--Doug Wilder and Mark Warner being notable exceptions, of course. Still, Kaine is more progressive than either of those two, and that's what Virginia really needs right now. I lived in Virginia for eight years, and my brother and his wife still live there; they weren't too happy about potentially losing their Dem governor and getting stuck with the Repuke that's sitting pretty in the Lt. Governor's seat right now.

It makes me wonder what Obama's planning, though. I suspect his VP choice will be someone sensational and/or controversial, if only because after all of the suspense, anything else would be a bit anti-climatic. Maybe he'll fool us all in the end. :)

I'll definitely be checking my e-mail every five minutes in the morning! I'm just happy that all of this is nearly over and done with.

2. I agree about leaving the Virginians in Virginia.
They are needed there.

I wouldn't say I can't stand Bayh, but I'm glad it's not him.

There are downsides to Biden on the ticket, but it could be a lot worse.
