Chet Edwards - Vets love him.
The American Legion Vision | May 28, 2008

A Promise Fulfilled

Rep. Chet Edwards is living up to the legacy of the man known in Washington as "Mr. Veteran."

Texas Democrat Chet Edwards may never have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, but his 18 years in Congress have been shaped by those who did.

snip

He received The American Legion's 2008 Distinguished Public Service Award after shepherding the largest one-year funding increase in the history of VA – $11.8 billion – while serving on the powerful House Appropriations Committee.

Anymore questions about why Chet Edwards may be considered for the VP? I am not endorsing him. I like Joe.

7. Think about this-- Chet Edwards--
If you are in fact really a veteran, it will benefit you to learn about this 'ass-hat' and just what he has done for vets in the face of fierce opposition from our 'Troop Loving' president and Pentagon. In spite of my hatred for the two-party system, I have to give props to Chet Edwards to oppose a President all too willing to send troops over to Iraq to get fucked up. Would he make a good VP? Probably. But Texas would lose a badly needed Democratic district. God knows the Repukes have Texas fucked up beyond all recognition. This is where Ken Lay started and where we still have unregulated utilities, shit public schools and a legislature that is a national joke and disgrace.
