Yikes!

They're naught but breathless rumor, on veracity they're short."
Welcome to DU, Zero! :hi:
I'll believe it when I read it somewhere reputable.

15. I'm in Texas
I see conservative Democrats everywhere who are still registered as Democrats so they can vote for sheriff, but they haven't voted for a Democratic candidate for President since Carter in 76.

I think around 10 % of Democrats always vote Republican for president, Don't have energy to search the numbers right now though.

11. An incumbent president
in most polls either behind his opponent or tied or maybe a couple of points ahead is not in great shape. This is a marathon and we will see ups and downs but the issues are on our side and this country has had its fill of AWOL.

12. Does anyone remember what
percentage of Democrats Reagan got? I am wondering how it compares.

It is hard to believe that Bush would have crossover appeal? Reagan was a good talker, good with a joke or a story, nice sense of comic timing. Bush can hardly string a sentence together.

She had planned to vote for Kerry, but now she isn't sure. The Swift boat liars have affected her feelings towards Kerry. These people are unusually good liar....and unusually bad human beings.

I remember last year they had Cruz Bustamante ahead of Der Gropenfuhrer and arnold won by about 20 pts..

It isn't bad at all. Give the polls time to factor in Kerry's counter attack.

18. I agree. I take the Times and was going to wait to read it tomorrow,
but your post made me check it out. Didn't seem all that bad. We have to expect some dips--Kerry is facing an incumbent and, as many posters have pointed out, most incumbents have a much bigger lead at this point. This is the ninth presidential campaign I've voted in--I've worked in more than that--but I can't remember a time when I've paid this much attention to the polls and all the other minutiae. I think the biggest change in following campaigns--at least for me--has been the advent of the Internet and cable television, where you can (literally) track events and news every minute of the day. Not always a good thing...

21. And why not
This man has successfully gotten us into a war based on complete lies. He has managed to alienate the entire world. He has managed to divide us. He has managed to advance a twisted theocratic vision onto our nation. He has managed to promote the most anti-environmental policy in the modern history of our nation.

He has managed to piss off pro-choice activists, human rights activists, environmental activists, public school teachers, peace advocates, childrens rights activists, and labor unions.

Nearly every issue at the heart of every Democrat has been not only mocked but assaulted by this despicable human being. I can’t find ONE THING, ONE ISSUE that Bush has done to appeal to ANY Democrat.

You are a Democrat because you believe in some fundamental principles. We don’t agree on everything, but we have a general core belief system. Bush has taken that system and taken a big healthy shit on it.

15% of Democrats voting for that? NOT ON YOUR F***** Life. This is pure propaganda.

22. You tell 'em about it kwolf68.
Just yesterday my fellow ex-pat colleague called me absolutely DUMBFOUNDED. Her parental units AND their upper-middle-class- entrenched-in-Ohian-suburbian-repug-country friends have ALL come together on ABB. She's been the "librul black sheep" for DECADES and could barely believe her ears. (But we're musicians and believing our ears is our stock and trade. ;-)) She was real careful and low key, "Could you repeat that, please? Mr. Jansen said what?"

My dearest ones, the *media is LYING to you as brazenly as that *idiot prancing around pretending to be president. Their RATINGS depend on making this a Jerry Springer duke-out, insisting with their ridiculous BOGUS polls that it's a close race, giving their PNAC masters an opening to STEAL YOUR LIVES and LIVELIHOODS yet again.

IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

25. Amen friend
If any hint comes out that this party is over, then the sheep out here will simply ignore the pap and pabulum the media feeds us and check in to some show like “My Real Pathetic Life” or something as inordinately inane.

One day Kerry is up 8%, then next day down 2%. It’s all a big charade, a dog and pony show…keep the minions interested.

What I find most absurd is the notion that this man could, in any way, appeal to Democrats. The SOB is making me MORE a Democrat. He is pushing me FURTHER to the left with his insidious, hair-brained ideas, his smirking arrogance, and his constant self-triumphant prattle.

I can’t find anyone in the English-speaking world who respects the traditions of the Democratic Party and our ideas and ideals who wants to vote for this administration full of partisan shitheads.

On the contrary…I have a group of friends and my entire family ALL ALL ALL staunch Republicans who rarely say anything nice about Bush, think he’s a moron, a liar, has done numerous things wrong, and is an abject failure. NO, they won’t vote for Kerry, because Kerry is a Democrat, but the fact of the matter is…IF BUSH is pissing THESE PEOPLE off, how the f*** can he be appealing to Democrats?

LIES LIES LIES…I only say its LIES because it defies logic.

31. The reason the Times is printing these results
is because the black box voting mafia thinks the 'fix is in' in California.

If you've been following the BBV threads lately, and are up to date on the presentations, hearings and court cases Bev, Andy, Pat, RedEagle, etc., are participating in, you'd see that someone (Diebold?) has 'gotten to' the Sec. of State and Atty. General's offices.

There is not even a REMOTE chance that, given a fair election, bush would win in California.... it is IMPOSSIBLE. Not one chance.

But the corporate media moguls believe that since they think the black boxes are free to eat votes at the moment, then they can go ahead with phony polls that make it appear that bush leads Kerry.

We'll be seeing more and more of this as the election approaches.

WE HAVE TO KEEP FIGHTING folks!!! Don't let up!! Be cognizant of the spin...watch for it, as the Diebold, ES&S, etc. companies buy off more elections officials.

Go to the BBV threads, and sign up!! Get involved in your state! AND HURRY!!!
