So McCain gets @$60,000 disability plus Social security
and his congressional salary. I have been wondering why he takes DB or SS and even his salary if his wife is so rich. Then I realized that maybe he knows that he has nothing without her. Those 10 houses made me realize that he is really a kept man. So just in case he gets caught with Vicki Iseman he'll at least have some income.

1. Send it back, John.
Send it back. Practice fiscal responsibility™. Practice what you preach.

Send it back.

Hehe... I might as well be asking FDR to jump up and do a backflip, eh? Not gonna happen....

8. Military disability does not have anything to do with being able to work.
Military disability is based on if you have lost any physical abilities due to injuries or events that happened while on active duty. If you lose a certain physical ability then a medical board decides what % you've lost and there is a $ value of every % you've lost for every physical ability.

So if you lost the sight in one of your eyes, you lost 50% your eye sight. The amount of $ you receive for that is $X for 1% times 50 = your disability payment. While you can still work but you still have a physical handicap that the government is responsible for that you will never recover from, so the government compensates you for it.

McCain apparently can't lift his arms above shoulder height. I know that is his most publicized disability but until he releases his full military record, we won't know what other disabilities he has.

17. You have a good point!!
I want some of that disability too. I have a leg full of plates and screws which is filled with arthritis. I just had major abdominal surgery and was supposed to be off for six weeks. But I had to go back to work after only two because we can not afford to live if I don't work. I have no benefits since I scrub the toilets of the rich people and if I don't work, I don't get paid. Poor Senator McCain. I feel so bad for him!! :sarcasm:

9. Gee..give him a break...That doesn't come close to the $270,000 for housekeepers annually.
The McCains increased their budget for household employees from $184,000 in 2006 to $273,000 in 2007, according to John McCain's tax returns.

14. 58K + 12K (soc. sec.) + 165K (Cong. salary) = 235K, which ...
leaves him SHORT 35K per year for paying the "help". Poor thing. How does he manage?

10. Out of Curiousity, can you refuse or turn down a government payment?
I know you could just simply not cash the check, but even then the government has already written that amount of money off.

Is there some way to call the government and say "Don't send me my check?"

12. This "disability" shit makes me sick. My son had a spinal cyst, can't walk, and has no
feelings in his lower limbs. We filed for SS disability and was told we would have to file for SSI benefits because he was 1 quarter short of being able to get SS. I got his letter of denial last week, and the reason he's not considered disable is, and I quote for the letter directly:

"You are able to think, act in your own interest, communicate, and adjust to ordinary emotional stresses without significant difficulties. We realize your condition keeps you from doing some types of work, but it does not keep you from doing less demanding work."

So if McAsshole can think, act in his own interest, communicate, and adjust to ordinary emotional stresses, why in the hell is he receiving Social Security AND considered disabled when he's holding down a $165,000 a year job. It's shit like this that pisses me off. According to the letter I got from Social Security, unless you're mentally handicapped you don't qualify for disability. The fact that you have no use of your legs and can't even stand up to go to the bathroom means nothing to them.

18. He's saving up for a few more houses. He wants one at 1600 Penslyvania Ave.
I hear he's gearing for a bid, but so far a Black guy going by O has trumped any of his future bids.
