ARLINGTON, Va. -- Democrats maintained their offensive portraying John McCain as out of touch because of his family's wealth with a demonstration Friday in front of the Republican presidential candidate's $847,000 condominium here.

The posh condo in the Washington suburbs is one of a dozen homes owned by McCain or his wife worth nearly $14 million. McCain was unable to say how many homes the family owned Thursday, and he's faced withering criticism over the gaffe since then.

Virginia Democrats, joined by home owners and real estate agents in front of the Arlington condo Friday, took turns deploring the lavish lifestyle McCain and his family lead and placing it in stark contrast to the struggles of ordinary Americans.
