Given: he was not likely to make the announcemnt without the VP present

Given: the announcement *with* the VP present will qualify as a joint campaign appearance

Then: early this week the campaign acknowledged Obama would announce his VP choice at the Old Capitol Building in Springfield, IL at noon Saturday.
