"Why can't we just talk about the issues this election"
That is what I have heard from a couple of republicons that I know.

Of course some of them add to that statement and say like abortion and same sex marriage.

I look at them and say your guy started this shit.

2. Yeah, look at who's been wanting to talk about the issues the entire time: Obama!
It's not our fault that your candidate only knows how to talk about other people and not the issues.

3. plus, the house thing is relevent bc it mirrors McCain's policies.
He thinks that a 250,000 dollar household is "struggling". Christ, he was probably telling the truth the other day when he said that five million dollars is rich. It all goes back to the tax cuts. And he makes these wacky statements often.

13. Indeed--this latest, the hardest negative ad to date, DOES concern issues
the housing crisis is real. McCain's denial of the economic trouble we've got ourselves into is also real. all valid, issue-based stuff.

4. LOL
How completely the tune changes when the slime doesn't work. Issue dominated campaign. Sounds like Democrats and pretty naive at that.

8. Your republican friends say the issues are "abortion/same sex marriage"?
That is pretty interesting in and of itself. Those aren't issues, those are WEDGE ISSUES. Just something to stir up the religious right voters,

11. Reminds me of a righty who complained that this was becoming a "personality contest"
He was, of course, complaining that the only reason people would vote for Obama was for superficial personality reasons.

As if that isn't the ENTIRE case that Republicans have made for their candidates, and against ours, for the past seven election cycles? mein Gott...
