What the Housing fiasco really says
The housing fiasco says more about McCain and his handlers than anything I can think of. They had to know at some point this would rear it's ugly head. How could they launch a strategy with Obama being an elitist when this was lurking. Secondly, they were so unprepared and never thought out a response. McCain not knowing was a two fold disaster. Too old and out of touch to remember and it's a "let them eat cake" moment. I'm in sales and I try to think of every response and answer to any issues before I go into battle. How unprepared can you be.

1. It also shows that McLame-o won't speak without his handlers.
SO much for straight talk.

2. It gives the lie to their entire campaign strategy against Obama.
Trying to paint Obama as The Other, to be mistrusted or even feared, will be tougher if the MSM keeps counting the McCains' homes. It's a lot harder to have a beer with McCain if you're not even sure which time zone his neighborhood bar is in.

3. This will be emblematic
in a retrospective of McCain's failed campaign(Hey he could still win anyway!). They are leaning on the cheat and MSM fallback completely no matter what. A really badly run campaign can try anything and achieve most of its issues temporarily and that is what McCain is. Non issues, totally hypocritical blowback issues, lousy execution, no defense system whatsoever because that is not their best line of reliance.

In extrapolation, if President, he will be forced to rely on LAST LINES all the time such as waving the nukes and blackmailing the economic community and repressing all Constitutional freedoms.

He can't possibly win a fair election, but unlike Goldwater that is simply what he isn't relying on. This is what happens when you RELY on cheating and it is good for us the inevitable has hit so soon- if we can use it. Ironically his best fairest performance would have been following anything resembling a decent road. Now he seems irrevocably reliant and caught up by the trap. Stuck in amber unless he goes 100% Rove which guarantees the public will never really elect him and fewer than ever will be fooled he has "won" in the first place.

4. Seriously. They probably had no idea, that idiot would say. 'I don't know'
He should of at least said 4. But the fact is he can't help it. He's really that out of touch

5. The McNopoly campaign has underestimated Obama every step
But they have been forgiven for all previous missteps until this one.

I think it opens two paths:

The McNopoly campaign is going to have to clean up and go with truth, which they can't because the truth hurts.

The other path for them to take is more likely to happen, they will just up the swiftboating on Obama. I think this will ultimately fail as well. Obama's campaign is keeping on top of the attacks so far and unless they come so fast they can't prepare a response, McNopoly will be doomed.

6. I agree
They are helplessly, incompetently locked into their strategy which does not rely on campaign smarts. In fact the Bush circle does not even want a strong independent puppet or team in their plans for continued actual control.

McCain is, would be, a lame eagle with Bush vultures circling constantly overhead.

8. "In 2004, having several houses allowed Republicans to claim that Kerry was
out of touch with the common man ...

John McCain has more houses than John Kerry, and has to have someone else count them for him ..."
