Maybe Hillary isn't such a bad idea
I had a bit of an epiphany while out bicycling today. Any of the "top" contenders, Biden, Bayah, and the others would generate about as much excitement as cutting the lawn. I still think Clark would be a good choice given his resume as would Richardson, but the problem with both is many voters don't know them. There wouldn't be any excitement there either.

I was pissed as hell at Hillary during the later part of primary season but damn if she wasn't a great candidate. But she is there on the issues and well, the whole war thing, so what at this point.

Hillary would blow the top off this campaign, a campaign that suddenly somehow seems to be losing traction with those voters who are actually paying attention at this point. Her base would be energized. No more BS about some of them supporting McCain. The Hillary says McCain is a great leader ad would, I think, be less effective. McCain could name a woman VP and it would be so what.

Sure a few Clinton haters might drop by the wayside but I don't think many of them would be voting for Obama anyway. A few might say Obama caved to Hillary pressure but honestly, who is a better choice? There are some men with more experience but not a one is going to make a significant impact. Who is going to really get the headlines. Nothing would beat the "Dream Team". The MM would be agog.

So for the first time in months, I'm hoping he picks Hillary. We'll know soon enough.

1. Hillary would be good for one reason: The media loves to hate her,
which will make Obama look better by comparison.

3. Let me check....Nope, still a bad idea...
It appears she's still married to Bill and that he's still not talking about his business dealings.

5. my main concern about Hillary is the haters that'd unify over a "black and a woman" ticket
Hillary has a lot of negative baggage from those like rush and newt who made their bones trashing (a diferent) Clinton. I dont think that the Obama Legacy can begin with Clinton baggage and Bill jokes in the background.

28. The epiphany has to do with winning in November with Hillary
or watching Obama go over the cliff to oblivion.

Clinton partisans waging fierce cyber campaign to derail Obama

By BARTHOLOMEW SULLIVAN
Scripps Howard News Service
2008-08-19 00:00:00

WASHINGTON -- A massive e-mail and Internet campaign is under way aimed at derailing the nomination of Barack Obama and making Hillary Clinton the party's standard bearer next week in at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

"It's downright nasty," said Memphis, Tenn., super-delegate and City Council member Myron Lowery, who has shared dozens of the messages he's received with The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal newspaper.

"I think it's divisive for the 'Support Hillary' campaign to continue at this time. She made the decision to fully support Mr. Obama," said Lowery, who initially supported Clinton but later switched his allegiance to Obama. "I don't know why they're not taking their cue from Hillary and falling in line."

Lowery said he does not believe Clinton herself is behind the effort, but that it's "her supporters, acting on their own because they're proud of what they have done for her."

7. Hillary on the ticket does not mean "change"
It means going back to every slimeball thing that the pukes dug up during Bill's presidency. We need to move FORWARD not BACKWARD.

8. Hillary is a very bad idea! I want Obama to win more than anything but not if he has to be
hitched to the Clintons. He would go through hell dealing with them his entire presidency.

12. Yeah, I'd much rather lose than win easily with Hillary.
Principles are important, and for many people, hating the Clintons is the highest principle of them all -- way ahead of saving our country. So by all means, let's cut off our nose to spite our face.

9. If she helps more then hurts then I'd accept it. It's clear she'd get dems
to rally around Obama, probably to the tune of several % pts. I just don't know how many the puke McLiar would get from his base rallying and what the indies would do. I wish there were some polls showing how the different vp choices would affect the numbers, especially in the swing states.

18. Welcome. Now you will be accused of being part of a blog conspiracy.
I had your same epiphany last month.

I was very hardened against the Clintons and my postings here since January are testimony enough to my feelings, but swallowing all of that it became very clear to me that winning in November is the goal and the single candidate who has national presence, who helps Obama precisely with the voters he is still having trouble with, who Americans believe when it comes to health care and more...was Hillary.

As I've posted for quite some time now, I believe it will be Hillary and Obama and Axelrod have been doing everything to keep McCain's crowd off of that trail.

Here's hoping we are right.

21. Dear God,
please let the next 12-24 hours go by more quickly than normal so that we can end this crap. Oh and while I'm at it, would you please do something about Amy Winehouse? Thank you!

In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.

25. I've been warming up to the idea, i must say that
Especially with the recent talk about how her supporters are independents who favor McCain. It would be nice to pull in their votes.

No other VP candidate brings much else to the table so why not go with a powerhouse?

P.S. My sister goes to Ramapo College (if that's what your namesake refers to...).
