Rassmussen - New Hampshire: Obama's Big Lead Now Down To 1%
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/new_hampshire/election_2008_new_hampshire_presidential_election

The presidential race in New Hampshire is now a toss-up. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds that Barack Obama's once-double-digit lead over John McCain is down to a statistically insignificant one-point lead, 43% to 42%.

When “leaners” are factored in, Obama is ahead 47% to 46%. Full demographic crosstabs are available for Premium Members. Time is running out to save on Premium Memberships. Sign up now and save. Learn More.

The Democrat’s support has steadily decreased in the Granite State since he clinched the nomination in early June. Obama fell from an 11-percentage point lead in mid-June to a six-point lead in July. The latest numbers mark the closest the race has been so far this year.

The latest numbers show support growing for McCain from those in his party. He now earns the vote from 87% of GOP voters, up from 78% a month ago. Though Obama still has a 42% to 34% lead among unaffiliated voters, support for the Democrat is down from 50% last month. He also has a 46% to 38% lead among women. Among men in New Hampshire, McCain has a 46% to 40% edge.

While Obama has a solid lead among younger voters, the race is close among voters between the ages of 30 and 64. McCain has a dominant lead among voters age 65 and older.

6. When he blew a lead and fell behind.
This campaign is nothing but platitudes, fundraising, and a volunteer drive.

14. Supporting him by telling him what he needs to hear, not
what he wants to hear.

I want him to succeed. But, he needs to stop believing in this "HOPE CHANGE" fairy tale and get back to good old-fashioned grind it out politics.

I understand you're frustration. Keep the faith. ...and Let's work for it.

8. That's really odd
given that Democratic candidate Jeanne Shaheen is leading incumbent Senator John Sununu 51% to 40%

Shaheen is a big Obama supporter.

It's one poll and Rasmussen has some wide swings. In April McCain was up by 10. In May and June, it was Obama by 5 and 11, respectively. Then in July Obama's lead was 4.

16. Well, it is possible that the polls are rigged...
It would not be the first time, that this happens, skewed polls to take the wind out of the sails of the Democratic candidate.

However, his "move to center", which I myself would call more like a "move toward Bush policies" (FISA, offshore drilling, surging in Afghanistan without saying what he wants to achieve there) makes me extremely nervous that he is letting the right wing define him.

Why did he do this stupid interview on his religious faith? Fortunately, I was on vacation and I missed it. He didn't have to do that. He should have said no. Who cares how he sees Jesus! I only care about how he sees the Constitution.

He needs to jettison some advisors, and I don't think Axelrod or Plouffe, but maybe Allbright and other Clinton advisors.
