I would like to hear Hillary out there really denouncing McCain

instead of stories about her brother's meeting with his political team. To have this publicized today - Is this some not-so-subtle form of blackmail?

12. Quite Likely That Is Not The Case, Ma'am
The most likely scenario is that only a portion of them did so, and the one most likely to do so is the McCain backer. The story is very light on substance, on why the people were together, and on what was spoken of, if anything.

6. I hate to say it, but I honestly think HRC is hoping for an Obama loss, so she can run in 2012...
.... So she'll put on a weak facade like she's in his corner, and undercut him behind-the-scenes. And by 2012 the country will be such a wreck that it won't matter.

at blackmail:

Clinton partisans waging fierce cyber campaign to derail Obama

By BARTHOLOMEW SULLIVAN

WASHINGTON -- A massive e-mail and Internet campaign is under way aimed at derailing the nomination of Barack Obama and making Hillary Clinton the party's standard bearer next week in at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

"It's downright nasty," said Memphis, Tenn., super-delegate and City Council member Myron Lowery, who has shared dozens of the messages he's received with The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal newspaper.

"I think it's divisive for the 'Support Hillary' campaign to continue at this time. She made the decision to fully support Mr. Obama," said Lowery, who initially supported Clinton but later switched his allegiance to Obama. "I don't know why they're not taking their cue from Hillary and falling in line."

Lowery said he does not believe Clinton herself is behind the effort, but that it's "her supporters, acting on their own because they're proud of what they have done for her."

I think they might have even left some of their droppings on DU, unfortunately.

16. Once the VP is announced, the air should freshen considerably....
there may be multiple big bangs ala the dinosaurs and there may still be some pollutants in the air afterward but, for the most part, it should be much better, thank goodness.

9. and even if she did, do you think M$M would cover it the way YOU want?

seriously? This shit with people complaining about the main stream media reports on how her brother met with someone and how that somehow affects her standing with SOME people here shows that they will buy (or in this case toe) the freeper lines of 'believe everything bad about the Clintons' and hold them personally accountable for what their relatives or supporters do. When the msm goes after Obama (and they've sorta started to those astute watchers) are THOSE people going to say it's Obama's fault? I effing think they'll blame Hillary for that too.

14. well, she herself provided the ammunition
that leads many to distrust her with "Obama has a speech" and her response to whether or not Obama was a Muslim. It's pretty obvious to me that certain repukes are also pushing this. But her own actions gave her away.

17. if you don't think there are a half dozen oppo teams that touted the SAME THING, including Obama's
...including Obama's own opp team, I have some Enron stock laying around and a bridge to Brooklyn for sale.

This is all stupid bs. Biden said the exact same thing. Oh...I'll even one up THAT for you...no one can PROVE that Obama actually gave a speech AT ALL. His commercial for it is a reenactment, and there is not ONE, not one, not one (I hope I'm getting the point across to you about there not being ONE) news source that reports on his speech at the time he gave it. Not one. Not one student publication. not one African American Newspaper. Not one paper in Chicago. Nadda. Nothing. Zip. Not one. At least she gave him the benefit of the doubt that he actually GAVE a speech at all.

Please stop blaming Hillary for everything.

18. I'm not sure you are understanding the references
I was making. Specifically, Hillary said that both she and McCain were qualified to be commander in chief, but all Barack had was a speech. I always thought she was referring to the speech he gave at the convention in 2004. I am sure there were plenty of references to that in many news sources and that it was carried live on tv. Since the particular speech she was referencing was never specified, it seems to be an open question.

...and I am not blaming Hillary for everything--only the things SHE HERSELF has said.

19. I am sure of what you speak...I know the references
and I assure you, she was referring to his supposed anti-war speech (use the context of the debate...BO was touting his being against the war from the beginning)...she said all he had was a speech. (and that part might not even be true). But with that as the impetus you use to detract from her, maybe you could help me. What did Barack Obama have at the time OTHER than the speech? He was the chair of an important committee that he didn't even bother to hold a single meeting. His camp is run by DLCers through and through. He's lightyears ahead of McCain, but that was the primary, and we had a LOT of qualified Dems.

11. I keep straddling the line with her...
and pretend as if she's just a victim of those surrounding her. But, after a while, you have to wonder why she isn't speaking out against the detractions.

13. Call Barack Obama then. Do you think people freelance on these things?
Whatever Hillary is doing or not doing on the stump is at the Obama campaign's request. The same goes for every high profile Dem.

If they asked her to go out and trash McCain she would.

The Obama campaign apparently doesn't think that would be productive at this time. And maybe they're right... I don't know.
