Town...

And, the racism and ignorance is coming out in force - in this VERY blue town. I am ashamed of some of my neighbors and their prejudice. The Muslim crap has stuck but good.

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/McCain_takes_5point_lead_over_Obama_0820.html

McCain up 5% over Obama? Best to lead this economy???!!!

Obama is going to lose unless he takes out iron gloves and puts it all on the table. He has to stop being a gentlemen.

13. Why, because I'm not in panic mode?
That is not even a question.

But the answer is,

We will win!

Despite the fools.

Look, Phil Gramm and his wife belong in prison- where they can't hurt anyone anymore.

They've earned that right- yet you'd install him as US Treasury Secretary.

2. Zogby????
Zogby is not exactly reliable in polling this election cycle. Gallup and Rasmussen both have Obama up over McCain by 2-3%.

4. Obama needs to start playing hardball with McCain
else he is going to lose in the general election. Obama needs to be told he needs to tell the voters who McCain is and who he is, and articulate a plan to fix the American economy. The campaign needs to get out of panic mode.

5. Unlike Some of the Pollyannas Here
I think there is reason to be concerned.

Obama is fully aware of the polls and has every intention of winning the election. What is not yet clear is whether his strategy will work.

It leads straight over a cliff.

I'm worried, myself. VERY worried. This is no time or place for gentlemen.

32. He Doesn't Have to Do it Himself
but he does need surrogates, who have been conspicuously absent.

I don't care if Obama changes his tune or starts encouraging 527s again. It needs to happen somehow.

22. Good point
I think Zogby had Obama over Hillary in California by 8 pts or more. We need to be concerned by the poll trends but we certainly do not need to panic over a single poll. This was always going to be a close race because a majority of Americans see McCain as an independent charming old gentleman who was tortured by Communists.

14. Action replaces fear
If you are terrified about the shape of the election - its time to take your mind off of the tube. Try this... go knock on doors, donate to the campaign, put up yard signs, email 25 people, help register voters, or pick any one of dozens of other things you can DO to effect the outcome of this election. Don't let broadcast media control your emotions move to positive action.

24. The Plan in separate parts:
1. Win the nomination.

2. Introduce himself to the nation, including calming their fears of the "scary black man."
a. Positive television ads.
b. MSM saying Obama is too much the "nice guy."

3. Democratic Convention.
a. Celebrate our diversity, unite the party.
b. Draw the rest of Americans in, excite them about our future.
c. Show Obama taking firm control in a SRO stadium before tens of thousands.
1) Obama gives positive, specific platform.
2) Obama takes the gloves off regarding McCain.

IMO, it has to be done this way because Obama is a black man. He must calm their fears first. Then he can attack.

30. Most of us who live in the reality based world knew that this would be
no cakewalk. Those of you who are in perpetual "concern" mode still think that another Dem would have stood a better chance, which is utter bullshit. We knew all along that the M$M would be an extension of the McCain campaign, and anyone in the media who wasn't onboard, would be bullied by the campaign until they cry UNCLE.

What, other than posting "concern" on an anonymous message board, are you doing for the campaign? The better question is when will the mods catch on to you guys?
