So I'm sitting here in the middle of a flood (thanks Fay!) pondering leadership.
When suddenly the answer became quite clear.

Really, is there any contest?

1. I always knew you were a closet Freeper
:eyes:

I was wondering if you and the family and kitties were alright. If you have internet, you must be at least "okay."

2. Right now we're at the push broom and pool towel stage. No sandbags yet.

I'm just now starting to get a little nervous. We're on retention pond three in a chain of four and numbers one and two have already flooded. Our house is on fairly decent elevation so we should be okay even if this one goes over the banks.

We've been draining the pool solid for six hours and are just keeping up with the rainfall. My neighbors are out of town and I'm pretty close to going over and breaking into their pool equipment to drain their pool. They look like they're about a half inch from water inside the house.

We went out and toured the neighborhood a little earlier and encountered some folks that have at least four inches of water throughout their house. The elevation relative to the neighborhood to the south was done very badly so they have water literally rushing from their backyard into their house. Makes the leaking in my front windows pale by comparison.

I'm giving thought to a new line of work. Guided kayak tours of suburbia.

This bitch has got to get a move on already! Come on Fay, it's a nice place but you don't want to live here.

3. They said it might boomerang -- I hope not
I lived in Wilmington, NC, and went through some pretty bad 'canes -- especially Fran. Let me know how it goes.

I don't think the neighbors would mind you breaking into their poolhouse.

4. Poor neighbors. They are elderly and the husband has been out of town...
the wife is in bed with an intestinal flu. I finally got her on the phone (obviously) and got my hubby over there to drain their pool. He figures he got to it in the nick of time.

God forbid it boomerangs.
