1. Obama better put every cent he has toward pandering his balls off to the people of Virginia
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 10:41 AM by ryanmuegge
Choosing a popular Virginian as VP is just the beginning.

With the electoral map being what it is, no Democrat should ever be considered a favorite to win a presidential election. We better focus on getting a big enough majority in both houses of congress to somehow amend the Constitution to give us a better chance of winning, or else we could pull a redistricting scam like the Republicans did earlier this decade. We will never win an election fair (or at least by an "unstealable" margin).

2. Your post is absurd. Real Dems don't encourage cheating or abusing constitution.

You need to learn how easily the corporate media spins the gullible. Use your energy to fight the corpmedia and stolen elections.

4. Look at the polling numbers. They speak for themselves.
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 11:09 AM by ryanmuegge
Don't give me the "real Dems" shit. I don't need to learn shit about the corporate media. I know exactly how it works. Look at the results of the last few elections. They speak for themselves. It isn't about "stolen elections." Yes, the last two elections were stolen, but the electoral map, by default, gives Republicans a lot more room for error. Yeah, the corporate media and the apathetic electorate are both responsible for McCain winning the election when he shouldn't be on substance, but it doesn't matter. The end results are the same: Republicans win, and the country goes to hell. All that matters is the end result. I want to win. We just have to use what we have to get our desired result.

8. Senator Obama needs to NOT pander to anyone, but do the opposite
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 11:20 AM by LostinVA
Pandering has never lead to a victory for Democrats, and goes against everything he;s been saying for the last year.

9. Call it whatever you want, but we need to win Virginia to even have a prayer of winning this

election. The thought of 4 more years of Bush policies through McCain and an (inevitably, regardless of the margin of majority) weak-ass Democratic congress letting him do whatever he wants terrifies the living shit out of me. We have to win this election by any means necessary.

11. Pandering goes against everything Obama has said he stands for
IF he panders to anyone, then he is NOT the candidate he has said he is.

Politicians who don't pander lose.

17. win in Colorada, New Mexico and Iowa
and the results in Virginia mean didley squat.

Iowa has been strong Obama ever since the primary.

McCain just totally ceded CO and NM with this whole water deal business.

so, I think we just got to have a great ground game to get the youth vote out.

Do you think maybe that's why he's not wasting money on big natinal ads attacking McCain?

-because he's putting the money into the ground game which will mean a lot more.

McCain's ground game will be weak, put together with lack of enthusiasm, his turnout will be weak.

Ours wont. Besides, this is coming off the first big burst of negative ads from McCain and Obama going on Vacation for a week.

I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty.

3. I can't help but think any of the
polls showing McCain ahead have to be contrived. Maybe more Republicans are being polled.

6. All media has to do is repeat the known maverick meme, avoiding the real risky guy.
Give people an excuse not to take a chance. Have no real idea how people are thinking, but polls tend to mislead and create opinion, rather than reflect it.

We need to take on GOP starting wars for political gain: even Georgia-Russia. Timing is still more than fishy.

7. Not good at all
Obama's massive ground operation in Missouri may get us a five-point loss as opposed to a ten-point one.

12. They're wasting their money in Missouri.
Pull the operation out of there and double-down on Ohio and Colorado.

15. Surprising. Can any Missouri people offer any insight here?
This is our poll, so can't be dismissed as cheating. We do not need, MO, though. CO, VA, OH, and FL are still well in play.

18. Missouri's gone. Now everything has got to go in VA and CO.
Edited on Wed Aug-20-08 12:30 PM by Carrieyazel
Virginia and Colorado will be this year's closest battlegrounds. Obama must go all out in these states.

They need to get out of MO, NC, GA, FL and even Indiana IMO.

This is now down to holding PA and MI, and bringing in VA and CO. It's that simple.

21. We Are Wasting Our Time in Missouri
And in every southern and non-coastal state with the exception of New Mexico.

We should be putting almost all our resources in midwest.
