Kathleen Sebelius, Tim Kaine, Bill Richardson, Ted Strickland, Brian Schweitzer, Ed Rendell, Janet
Napolitano, and Tom Vilsack are all outside-the-beltway VP choices who have interesting qualifications who would reinforce the "change" message and who would help Obama win in different states or regions.

Wes Clark, Anthony Zinni, and James Jones are all very interesting VP candidates with military experience, and while I don't think the 2008 election will be about milirary experience -- at least I hope it isn't because that's not how we want to frame the election if we want to win -- I do like that the military experience is non-political, non-beltway, and non-business-as-usual.

If Obama had to pick a VP candidate from the Senate (or Congress), at least Claire McCaskill, Bill Nelson, Tim Roemer, Evan Bayh, and Tom Daschle are from potential swing states and would help with the electoral college map.

1. I really don't like the idea of Bayh.
Schweitzer would be awesome, imo.

12. Both Bayh and Webb better serve us in the Senate than as VP.

9. That's for sure!
Maybe that's who he's been hinting at these past weeks and I'll completely missed it.

4. Ed Rendell is suicide....hope if he was vetted, they found what I found.
I'd take Biden over Strickland any day.

Tim Roemer would be an interesting pick.

giving Barack advice about running his campaign. IN PUBLIC.

Total lack of respect from those bastards who are still just pissed about the Primaries.

5. Let's just say it was a bad time for Russia to invade Georgia and for Musharraf to resign.
Otherwise Obama would've been able to make the choice he wanted to. :(

13. Not crazy about Bayh and Kaine
but Clark, Richardson, and Biden could all bring something of bankable value to the ticket. They are all smart and clearly qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. I think the world of Claire McCaskill, but she's even newer on the scene than Obama and could be a valuable ally in the Senate. I wouldn't even object to HRC, if and only if she promised that Bill would take a four year vacation in Guam. She has been much more conciliatory and unifying since she ended her campaign than the Big Dawg has, and it pains me to say that.
