My guess: Biden and Pawlenty
Biden:

With Russia rolling over Georgia, with Ukraine and the Baltic states trembling, he needs someone who can talk about any country in the world and know what he is talking about.

By the time I started supporting him - it was too late, but I was impressed with him talking about Pakistan BEFORE the murder of Bhuto.

And he controlled his "motor mouth" very well during the debates.

Pawlenty:

Even McCain has to recognize the facts that his age and health history require him to select a VP who will be accepted by his base.

The Hallelujah chorus who do not trust his "faith" will certainly not accept Romney.

Pawlenty is young and has the "right" credentials to attract this crowd.

(Of course, all my candidates always lose, so...)

2. Pawlenty always reminds me of a great bumper sticker
in the French Quarter. It featured a picture of the bridge collapse in Minnesota and underneath it the words: Your Tax Cuts at Work!!

3. Oh, he can always blame Jesse Ventura
even though he was in office more than 4 years when it collapsed.

4. In the Navy
I did a tour on an IG Staff and on occasion we'd find something fucked up at a command (usually administratively) and whomever was in charge of that section would say something along the lines of "but I've just been here for two years.

9. When you realize that the projects and the budget of MnDot
usually extend into the next decade, this could be a plausible explanation.

13. But isn't it more
manly and ethical and downright right to take responsibility when you are in a position of responsibility? Did not Pawlenty push for no tax increases for infrastructure improvements?

5. I agree that for McCain to pick Romney, it would be a mistake.
There are far too many evangelicals who view Mormonism as a cult and would not vote for McCain with Romney on the ticket and McCain needs every one of those evangelical votes he can get.

6. LIEberman or Ridge and McCain can fold up his tent and go home
So I hope he picks either one.

8. I Said Last Month That It Should Be Biden... He Can Dish It Out & He Has
the cojones to stand his ground! He's NO LIGHTWEIGHT and has been around long enough to know "extra little secrets" which he may or may not be able to use. No matter, to me he's a heavy hitter regardless of those who think he over-talks! Obama needs him as a front man who is willing to take McDrooly on, thereby leaving Obama to stay on course!

If it's Biden I will support the ticket! I'm sick of mealy-mouthed Democrats and have said I'm ready to fight HARD for a third party. Ronnie RAY-GUNS once said... I didn't leave the Democratic Party, it left me. I've barely been involved with politics lately because I'm SO SICK of what I've been seeing.

Living in Florida and in the VERY WORST county I can think of, my daughter left last Wednesday for San Francisco to check out nursing jobs because they have a UNION! They're both critical care nurses and saw that they could almost triple their hourly wage, but I told them it was going to be WAAAAAY too expensive. Owning a home here, which they would have to take a loss on to sell, they soon understood the reality. However, she has called me every day talking about the people and the MUCH MORE Liberal attitude there and they just made a vacation of it. I told her I couldn't take anymore of her calls because as a Boomer I recall "how it was" when we had "activism" and a voice that got attention. The APATHY I see these days has been more than I can take.

Obama has many younger voters who are willing to support him, BUT WILL THEY REALLY VOTE??

Then there's the OTHER RUB... anyone who wins POTUS will have a POWERFUL mess to clean up and if it's Obama he's going to be dogged from day one!

So, I say Biden... at least he knows just how screwed up this country is and is willing to SPEAK UP!

12. Right. And, chances are, he will not be running himself
eight years later, so he can really say what he means and mean what he says without worrying about how it will look on HIS resume.

Yes, we remember the way it used to be (which is why Obama's trashing the 60s and the boomers really bothered me). Those where the days when we thought that it was the responsibility of a government to invest and to nurture its citizens, instead of expecting everyone to pull oneself by the boot straps. The way Al Franken (running for the Senate) comments on this is that you need to have boots..

14. A Late Reply, But I Agree With You Completely... A Start To The Up Hill Climb!!
Yes, Biden may not run again, probably not, but maybe by then Americans will wake up enough to see a "revival of Democracy!" It's shriveling on the vine and almost DEAD!!!
