WAPO: Veep Tea Leaves: As Veep Choice Nears, Obama Hires Speechwriter

O hires Jeff Nussbaum for Veep. (Ties to: HRC via his wife - she was a legislative aide to Hillary, and co-wrote with James Carville. Co-wrote with Bob Graham. And Daschle mentioned below...)


"I don't know where I'll be going, or who with, but I hope that it ends with a big party in Chicago, and a pair of dynamic new leaders for our country!" wrote Nussbaum.

Nussbaum is a well-known and well-regarded presence on Capitol Hill, having served as a longtime speechwriter for former Sen. Tom Daschle (S.D.).

Before joining the vice presidential team, Nussbaum will head to the Democratic National Convention in Denver to help coordinate the speech writing there.

"At the conclusion of the convention, instead of hopping on my flight back to DC, I've just been asked to hop on a plane with the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate," writes Nussbaum in the email.
