Vice President Joe Biden?
By M.J. Rosenberg - August 18, 2008, 1:28PM

Josh writes that the buzz here in Washington is all about Joe Biden. He's right. It is. And I hope he's the choice.

I was not a Joe Biden fan until I actually sat in a bunch of meetings with him. And he simply knocks your socks off. He knows foreign policy issues backwards and forwards. He knows the nuances and he knows the players. Not only will Joe Biden not get tripped up by an interviewer asking who the President of Uzbekistan is. Biden will tell him who the Vice President is and the Foreign Minister too.

In my many years in this city, I've sat in plenty of rooms with plenty of these guys, and he is about as impressive as they get.

1. Just watching Hairball, Joe is the ONE.
Forget the meme that Joe is not the change agent guy.

Here's why: How can you change something inside of a system when you don't really know the intricacies, and HOW to change it? IMHO, Biden is the BEST choice for BHO, because he KNOWS how its done inside the beltway, and between the two of them, they could fix what is broken. Let's use the following analogy: You have a computer program that has gone awry. It keeps doing the same thing over and over again. Who do you send in? A plumber (like say Tim Kaine or Kathleen Sebelius, Evan Bayh) or do you send in a tech specialist, like JRB? Do you send in someone from the outside who doesn't know the mechanics of the problem, or do you send in someone who knows the system and the network?

Talk amongst yourselves.

2. I agree
Biden is not the insider's insider. He knows how Washington works forwards and backwards, but has managed to maintain a certain distance by not actually living in DC. One cannot bring about change effectively if you aren't well informed about how the system works. Biden knows. Though I think he could be more effective in a different role, I believe the ticket would be stronger with him on it and right now, winning is imperative.

6. Wanted Joe for Pres.
I have been nursing the desire to see him as VP ever since he left the race after Iowa. I so hope that it's him. I'm scared to get my hopes too high though!

Fingers, toes, legs and arms all crossed tight, "Come on, Barack, please pick Joe!"

7. Where have you been?
I often think about you and wonder how you're doing. It is so good "seeing" you again!

I know what you mean about "scared to get my hopes too high".

10. OMG Just getting by that's where I've been!
I got fed up with all of the fighting between Obama and Hillary supporters and gave this place a pretty big rest. It's been more than busy around here, the kids were off for the summer, and they've started back up at school lately. I think I've got a gall bladder issue too. So, today I'm doing an experiment and eating a bunch of high fat food just for kicks. If I'm in agony later, I'm going to report that finding to my doctor who will then hopefully rectify the situation one way or another. Lots of fun. Anyways, we're about 11 months into my husband's deployment, so, about 120 days left until he comes home. We're headed back to Germany after that. :)

How about you, how have you been?

12. I think a lot of people have been "just getting by"
lately.

120 days to go? Must seem like a lifetime. Hopefully this mess will all be over soon.

Many of us just stayed out of GDP during the primaries. It really got too ugly for my taste. But we generally touch base at the support group. Now things are getting exciting again and lots of Biden supporters are cropping up.

Good luck with that experiment! Ouch!

11. I want it to be Biden but something inside me thinks Richardson is the winning pick
First, Richardson has a major appeal to the Hispanic community is Richardson himself is hispanic. Bill also brings a strong Foreign Relations history (has served as Ambassador). And Richardson brings a state that tends to be a swing state vs. Delaware which is solid blue. I keep thinking that Biden will be tapped for Secretary of State where he would definately excel.
