I am obsessing over Saddleback,,, but Warren is asking me to believe
that on the biggest night of the history of his church

1. McCain was not given a set time to be there or
2. If McCain was given a set time to be there and it was before 4:50 P.M. that he did not have anyone from his staff contact McCain to determine if he was O.K. or delayed.

If, based upon his statements, McCain was "in the cone of silence" and he did not find out until later that he was stuck in traffic then at 4:50 when he was looking for McCain to give him a heads up on a question wouldn't a bit of panic set in that he was not there?

If McCain was not given a set time and was told to arrive before 6:00 P.M. then the cone of silence statement is incorrect along with his asking McCain if the Cone was uncomfortable.

2. Ya would think this whole story smells to High Heaven...of course Mac had a time to be there
and of course the Mac Party all have cell phones and of course if ya stuck in traffic one of the Party calls to inform Saddleback of the delay which would be forwarded to Rick who would then inform the audience and Obama so they could in turn delay the show.

but then it would be only fair...so they didn't do it...of course....

Damn

3. The whole thing bothered me too......but this is how I handled it.
I wrote Saddleback Church a letter:

I sent it to his email address: info@saddleback.net

Dear Saddleback Ministry,

I am a Born Again Christian (Baptist) and the wife of a Baptist Minister. I took the time to participate in a five week Prayer group studying the writings of Purpose Driven Life about a year ago. Our group utilized the DVDs, the workbook and everything.

I just want to say that after watching Sen. McCain announce that he would defeat Evil on National Television, I can never vote for this man. As a true Christian, I believe that only with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will Evil be defeated. At least Sen. Obama was humble enough to say that Evil is to be confronted, because in reality that is really all that we can do, as sin is the Evil that lives inside of each and everyone of us, as we are all sinners.

Sen. McCain also seemed rehearsed, phony, forced and disingenuous. He appears to have very little empathy, as he provided only one quick sentence to describe his greatest failing, a marriage that included children, and a woman who waited for him while he was held captive. There was no sincere humility to his statement whatsoever.

John McCain "claims" to believes in the sanctity of life, but he has no problem dropping bombs on innocent men, women and children who have done no harm. He talked excitingly about war and violence while in the house of God, and held winning in greater esteem than peace and understanding.

And so, after watching the forum held at your church, I have decided to vote for Senator Obama. I believe him to be an earnest humble Christian who seems to carry the Lord in his heart.

Thank you for your help in making my political decision. Sen. Obama isn't perfect, but at least he seemed to clearly understand this about himself and indicated a willingness, that like the rest of us, the need to work at it each and every day.

Respectfully,

5. Good letter!
I just want someone to ask him the tough questions. Last night I figured it should be a McCain issue to deal with but after Warren's peformance on Larry King tonight I now of the opinion that Warren has a clear agenda and needs to be questioned.

p.s. it is a bit touchy subject, friends work at the church, host small group, teach youth groups, family members attend, on and on.

7. I also wrote this one
Edited on Tue Aug-19-08 02:09 AM by FrenchieCat
and sent it to 5 of my local papers, and the big national newspapers.

Dear Editors,

I am a Born Again Christian, and the wife of a Baptist Minister. After listening to Sen.

Sen. McCain appears to have very little empathy, as he provided only one quick sentence to describe his greatest failing, a marriage that included children, to a woman who waited for him while he was held captive. There was no sincere humility to his statement whatsoever.

Sen. Obama in contrast considered his decision on his stance on the War in Iraq to be his greatest challenge. How one will stand on issues of War and peace that is bound to affect the lives of hundreds of thousands is not an easy decision, and Mr. Obama's admission of agony on the subject bodes well for the type of individual needed in the Oval Office.

And so, after watching the forum on television, I have decided to vote for Senator Obama. I believe him to be an earnest humble Christian who seems to carry the Lord in his heart. Sen. Obama isn't perfect, but at least he seemed to clearly understand this about himself and did indicate a willingness to work at this each and every day.

Sincerely,

10. Obama was not harmed or duped in any way.
It was not a trap!!!!!!%**!! well, if it was he turned it in his favor.

His was a sane and reasonable voice in the cacophony of chicanery of the night.

I'm sure he grabbed some rw'er votes from that appearance.

I KNOW he didn't lose any lw votes from that appearance.
