Poll question: The last couple Madison Obama grassroots table photos for your enjoyment (Bandwidth phat)
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 10:39 PM by zulchzulu
I've been doing Madison Obama table reports since last April 2007. I have been incredibly busy the last few weeks since the election is now really getting close.

I figured this week, since I missed last week's post due to being swamped in life and all that, I'll just let the photos tell the story.

These photos range fram last weekend's Farmers Market to this past Saturday, where it was a double-header of the Farmers Market and the African Fest, which I have an audio file for you to get the spirit of the event.

So many beautiful people...all looking for hope and looking for the World to see we ARE a good country...

Listen to a sound clip of the local musicians playing this music as people had their photos taken...

MP3

Mini-report:

The African Festival in Madison was amazing. I registered 40+ people to vote. When I recorded the audio you can listen to, I was standing at a vantage point where I could the silhouette of the Obama cutout on the other side of the tent. I could see the shadow of the life-size form of Obama and an endless shadow dance of people posing with him. These are people from Africa who have escaped the madness and violence and are now in the Madison area. One of my best new friends who I've begun playing soukous music with is from Kenya and is a wealth of stories about Africa these days.

When I was recording the song that many were singing in the crowd, I couldn't help but cry with joy. I could see the shadow of Obama and the hope he brings with these people and it was beyond mere words to describe. I would advise you to listen and dance to their music, which I believe is a Swahili folk song.

(Video forthcoming in a future documentary)

I slept well that night.

GOBAMA!!!!!

(On edit: human stuff...)

3. I Didn't Vote In Your Poll...
Because I both like it (a lot!) & I do grassroots work too. I did mention you at our regional group meeting Saturday, for both your great work at your Madison table & for what you did for me before our primary.

12. It makes for a very successful grassroots event
I've had a camera and get email signups from people who are interested in getting a photo and signing up.

I use Photoshop extras that set up a photo gallery easily.

Hugs to you, AK!
