I had a BBQ/Fundraiser for Barack at my house today. We raised $400 for the cause registered two new voters and got some people signed up for voter registration, phone banking, and canvassing shifts. My favorite new person I met today was an older gentleman who worked from the Johnson Administration to the Reagan Administration (Reagan cut his funding) in an economic development project in one of the minority projects in Ohio. The old school type of liberal that has walked the walk and worked for change for more years than I've been on this earth. His wife who isn't as mobile as he is, has learned how to phone bank from home using the internet and he has volunteered to canvass in the inner city. Seeing such enthusiasm from the older generation is really inspiring. He is one of the most committed people to Barack I've ever met and really inspired me to work harder for the campaign. Tommorow I'll be working a Gay Pride event in the city. For all those who are the naysayers on here I got news for you. We are working very hard on the ground. We are registering voters and getting prepared to amass a democratic army the country has never seen to get out the vote in November.
