Remember the people here who were screaming that Hillary would "take it to the convention?"

Then she conceded and withdrew and gave a speech that virtually everyone agreed was a powerful endorsement of Obama and his candidacy, and these people were forced to mute their insanities for a few weeks.

The "PUMA" phenomenon gave them an excuse to start barking again. Even though it has been shown that "PUMA" is a completely insignificant and small group of malcontents (many Republican), who would have zero impact on anything, were it not for the media and the online groups that give them the attention they crave.

Obama knows what he's doing. This convention will come off as brilliantly orchestrated television that spurs Democrats and Independents across the nation to unite in the common goal of electing Barack Obama as the next President.

Hillary will give a rousing and historical speech, that is not so much designed to make her primary supporters feel better (the vast majority of them feel just fine), but to get people enthused about electing Democrats and electing Barack as the next President.

Bill Clinton will use all of his oratorical skills to do the same. For those that have been whining that he should have delivered a full throated endorsement by now - this convention will be watched by tens of millions across the country. If people tune in to see what WJC has to say, it will make his endorsement all the more powerful. The convention is actually the time for him to step up to the plate.

This will all be capped off by Obama's historic, inspiring speech in front of tens of thousands at Invesco Field.

Barack Obama knows exactly what he is doing.

Many of you need to sit back and chill and watch carefully choreographed political theater unfold.

1. Remember the RBC meeting?
What does Obama knowing what he's doing have to do with people acting like assholes?

Obama knows what he's doing, but some Democrats are still shooting off their mouths about him being inexperienced and lacking substance.

2. I'm old - 49 - and greatly miss the roll calls. So, any excuse for a roll call is great by me!

Yes, Obama knows what he's doing. People think he made it through Chicago politics by being a doe-eyed, good guy.

He's tougher than that. He knows how to rumble.

The convention will be great theatre.

3. Hillary will announce a third party run right after the convention
Edited on Sat Aug-16-08 02:06 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I know this is true because it is the fantasy that makes me angriest and I enjoy being outraged--it makes me feel alive.

Without my paranoid Clinton fantasies I would be lost...

'And remember that it is for ever. The face will always be there to be stamped upon. The heretic, the enemy of society, will always be there, so that she can be defeated over and over again. The weaker the opposition, the tighter the despotism. Clinton and her heresies will live for ever. Every day, at every moment, they will be defeated, discredited, ridiculed, spat upon and yet they will always survive. That is the world that we are preparing, Winston. A world of victory after victory, triumph after triumph after triumph: an endless pressing, pressing, pressing upon the nerve of power. You are beginning, I can see, to realize what that world will be like. But in the end you will do more than understand it. You will accept it, welcome it, become part of it.'

6. I believe you are right, ruggerson.
It is fitting that we honor Hillary and her landmark achievements. Having her name on the first ballot is exactly what she and her supporters deserve. This will be a truly historic convention. The drama will serve to bring in record number of viewers, all who will see a united party, in the end. I have no doubt. ...and I can't wait.

19. Yep. It's being handled brilliantly by both Obama and Hillary.
Just think how many independents will watch just to see the drama. And then they'll hear what Obama and our party have to offer.

Nobody on earth can deny that the Bill Clinton years were prosperous ones. And to see Bill Clinton solidly behind Obama will do a world of good.

Seeing the unity between Barack and Hillary will seal the deal.

15. do you know what is worrying the Clinton's right now?

How their speech will be compared to Obama's

Old Bill Clinton is working late into the night to figure out how he can raise the roof and give the Democrats the greatest pro Obama speech of the convention.

Hillary's speech will be historic and enthusiastic.

These guys are actually professionals at this and they won't let their personal feelings impact what they are going to do.

18. Were you watching in 2004?
Bill completely forgot (accidently, I'm sure) that there wasn't a lawmaker in DC who understood the terrorism issue more than Kerry and tracked terror networks successfully exposing their funding by international financiers. Gee...the first election after 9-11 and Bill has nothing to say about the nominee's prescient work on the issue? Of course not - because Clinton didn't want Kerry in the WH with access to documents that he spent the 90s deep-sixing to protect GHWBush and his cronies, some of who have lined Bill's bank accounts since he left office.

16. I know that I am finally getting excited.
I was so disappointed when she conceded, but agreed to vote for Obama.

Now, I'm starting to get into it, I can't wait for the convention, it's going to be so awesome! The Republican Convention is going to be sooooo boring compared to ours. Obama really knows what he's doing.

17. The theater at the convention....
..is ALL about consolidating Corporate Power and saddling Obama with a very heavy DLC Corporate Platform.
They (DLC) didn't get the nomination (Hillary), but they are going to make DAMNED sure that Obama can't rock their BIG MONEY/Business-as-Usual boat.

The Middle Class/Grass Roots loses (again).
