Obama’s Hawaii ("solidly middle class")
Damn, none of the photos showed up. You'll just have to go to the link. It is the Faux embed's article but it seems pretty nice. http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/15/obamas-hawaii/

Obama’s Hawaii

by Bonney Kapp

Yes, Barack Obama, his family and friends enjoyed a posh vacation in Hawaii. It was reported that they stayed in an 11-bedroom beach front home in a ritzy Honolulu suburb. He played two rounds of golf. He dined at swanky restaurants, and one renowned chef even created a menu just for Obama’s party.

But then there’s the Hawaii of Barack Obama’s youth, which - save for his attendance at one of the Island’s oldest and most expensive schools thanks to a scholarship - was a little more modest.

Barry Obama, as he was known, lived in a home on Wilder Street as a youth - an area that aspires to be solidly middle class.

He scooped ice cream at a Baskin Robbins crammed into a seedy strip mall.

He played basketball on courts adjacent to a loud and busy highway.

As a teenager, Obama swam not at the pristine and tourist-ridden beaches of Waikiki, but at Sandy Beach - a favorite of locals that’s been known to injure those not prepared for its rough surf.

When Obama returned from Indonesia as a child, he lived with his grandparents in a 13-story apartment building that, even when it was new, was unlikely described as “luxurious.”

5. The little girl from San Francisco who said thanks to the Russians
and her aunt who blamed the violence on Georgia. Not saying I know what the hell is truth or lies over there, but it was a departure from the line we are getting here.

11. If this is nice, I'd hate to see a hit piece.
They are painting Obama as a man who has forgotten his roots. They can't deny his humble background so they are trying a different angle.

This article is definitely NOT a nice piece from Fox.

7. I don't know...
It sounds to me like a "he had a modest childhood but look how he betrayed it all to become a wealthy elitist" story.

8. Really?
That would be a tough sell. It's amusing to hear that argument from the McCain camp, since their guy is such a man of the people.

HA!

9. Isn't that their whole modus operandi?
Kerry and Obama are fancypants elitists while Bush is down-home, brush-clearing man of the people. In that Hannity & Colmes, Edwards/McCain infidelity kerfuffle the other day it was Edwards: $1000 dollar haircuts vs. McCain: beaten for 5 years in a P.O.W. camp.

Besides I can't imagine any Fox fans actually getting beyond the first paragraph.
