Obama: $51 million in July
August 16, 2008

Obama: $51 million in July

Obama stays on pace in July, raising more than $51 million for the third month this cycle. (His best werwe June and February.)

McCain's best month, last month, brought in $27 million (with the RNC adding more); he's shifting to public financing for the last two months of the race.

McCain's attacks probably helped, as did big money from new former Clinton donors; but the fact that he can raise this month in the summer doldrums suggests his ceiling will be higher when people start paying attention after Labor Day.

The campaign says the more than $51 million raised includes contributions from more than 65,000 new donors.

The old warmonger did his best month and Obama blows him away. What wrong with those Repbulicans -- are they out of work on welfare and foodstamps or what?

27. They don't include 527's, but ....

...when you consider the massive union support, as well as our own 527's, we will have just as much, if not more outside help than gramps does.

KUDOS TO OBAMA FOR BEATING THE OLD MAN INTO THE GROUND AGAIN !!!!

7. Damn, the repubs/McBush have to be shitting bricks about now....
they know as well as we do the Obama campaign is going to hit their hardest when McBush is limited by public funding. It is a reversal of the Kerry/Bush campaign, imo.

16. Obama stumped McCain in July.
At this rate, could Obama raise over $60 million each month for September and October?
