According to David Shuster, Rick Warren will ask McCain about his first marriage!
He said Warren is going to ask questions that go to their character, including Obama's drug use (which he's talked about many times) and McCain's first marriage! I can't WAIT!!!

1. Oh YEAH! At last, Teflon John on the hot seat!
Wish Warren would turn to ethics and question him about
the Keating Five scandal, but that's probably expecting
too much ...

3. Can you imagine how uncomfortable McCain is going to look when he tries to answer? I bet
he's going to say he deeply regrets what he did, prays every night over it, blah blah blah. It will be a sight to behold!

7. Except his insincerity will bleed through ... Bomb Bomb isn't a good faker
like Dumbya is on issues of faith. I predict McCrypt will
look downright uncomfortable, like a deer in the headlights
when asked about his "faith." Obama is far more relaxed
and has had practice in discussing his feelings (thanks,
Rev. Wright!) but Bomb Bomb is going to ... BOMB, I'm
afraid (!).

10. Well, he has a couple stories I heard about today on CNN-one that he claimed he
prayed for another MINUTE while a POW rather than another day or hour, and that he was known as "Hell's Angel" for starting a prayer group while in Vietnam to help himself and others get through the days. But he won't have an answer for the cheating on and leaving his wife thing!

2. He will claim that it's personal and in the past.
Then he will say something along the lines of "It's time to move on, Rick".

Hey, jen, I haven't seen you around.

But, then, I always miss out on the good stuff.
Tom

5. I don't think that'll cut it. This is about his character, and if he DOES say that,
I bet it won't go over too well, especially since a pro-Obama religious group will be running an ad during the night called, "Family."

Thanks for noticing, Tom. My parents were up from FL and I spent every day playing Scrabble (with chess-like intensity) with my father. :hi:

Just one more reason, jen.

One more reason.

24. It worked for the Shrub.
Any Republican worth his salt knows how to handle it when caught with his pants around his ankles. Simply pray for forgiveness, admit you have sinned and at some point announce that you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior. Short of being caught in the sack with a dead girl or a live boy you're good to go. If anyone has the temerity to bring it up again, you simply reply that that was in the past and a personal matter to boot.

Of course Straight Talk Johnny has not exactly been known for his close personal relationship with his Lord and Savior but it's never to late to start.

4. McCain will start saying "POW" like Rudy G says "9-11"
I can hear him saying something like this:

"Well I was a POW and when I was a POW, the thing that kept me going was a cross a fellow POW drew in the dirt with a crutch, and then after I got back, things weren't the same ...."

8. Well, that was what HANNITY did when Colmes started talking about how McCain cheated on
HIS wife, (after Hannity kept on and on about how if you cheat on your wife you'll lie to your country). He kept saying it's in a different context, after he was tortured for 5 years, and was losing it.

12. So, Senator McCain, did Jesus kick his mother to the curb after being tortured?
He will not be able to hide from this preacher. I've seen this guy before. As preachers go, he's not as predictably right as most. He's got some progressives ideals, too, the ones Jesus pushed.

14. I guess because he wants to get both guys' character, morals, etc., on record so the large
number of voters who care about this can decide? It can only HELP Obama and hurt McCain since this should be McCain's base.

11. He'll say it was his fault and that he's grown and matured
A mea culpa moment to melt the hearts of all the philandering evengelicals out there who can relate.

My prediction - it'll be a barf bag moment of false sincerity.

"episode," but I doubt he'll get that much into it.

19. If Warren pushes we'll all be shocked
McCain has done the mea culpa bs already. So this is a rinse-repeat deal he's comfortable with repeating.

At least the pro-Obama family ads will be running during the show.

18. If he gives a good answer, he can utterly negate it as an issue. Here's hoping he makes one of his
trademark gaffes; a typical-McCain clumsy answer would make people ask more questions.

I, too, hope he messes it up.

One can only hope that it will be such a shock to people who don't know, it will still do some damage.
