Am I the only one who thinks all of this Clinton speculation is much ado about nothing?
People have put together all sorts of conspiracy theories about what Clinton is trying to pull off at the convention in surpassing Obama as the star of the convention. However, all of this is completely without any hard evidence at all. It is simply conjecture. However, all of this conjecture will hurt Obama in the meantime and accomplish nothing except helping the Republicans. This is beyond moronic.

2. As I understand it this was worked out between both camps...
It was discussed this morning on GMA and I saw something about it last night, too.

We will cross that bridge when we get to it.

The speculation is silly and counter productive.

also do not think she wants to be the one that is blamed should he "god forbid" lose the election. I think this is as we are being told, been worked out by Barack and the Clintons and Rachael even said on Keith's show last night that the Obama campaign actually suggested that her name be placed in nomination.

Think how it could look by her name being placed in nomination, the first woman candidate, a great campaign and race, then she gives her delegates to Obama and than as a Super Delegate herself casts her vote for the next President of The United States.

Agree, lets cross that bridge when we get to it instead of getting into a bunch of wild theories.

You ain't the only one.

The media lives to freak out about the Clintons. The more unhinged they get, the more popular the Clintons get, and it drives them fucking nuts.

11. The ones doing the "speculation" is the msm and the repugs, they are the
ones who have EVERYTHING to gain from this. Remember "united we stand..." we got to stop believing everything we here and trust our candidate, if we can't do that now how while we do it if/when he's elected?

12. Are you all aware...
...that the PURPOSE of the convention is to select the nominee. Does anyone even remember the excitement of the states voting and not knowing who would be the winner. It's only in the very recent past that we generally know the nominee after Iowa and the convention is just a big pep rally with speeches. It's like the superbowl with everybody knowing in advance who will win. It's lost it's meaning and excitement. Yet so many here act as if this idea of voting is just some grand scheme that the Clinton's concocted!!!

So stop already with the ridiculous conspiracy theories and enjoy the race. (Even though we already know who the winner is!)

15. No you aren't. Obama is the smartest politician I've ever seen; he'll do nothing
to risk the tremendous gains he's already made.

It's graceful of him to honor another really groundbreaking campaign. Kudos to both candidates!

16. I agree and I'll even say
That those with Clinton Paranoia Syndrome are just posers. They are the 'good cop' half of a little game they've run up with fellow Republican 'Pumas' to keep the division running. Two sides of the same very destructive coin. Clearly these people not only have a weak comprehension of what a nominating convention is, and it seem obvious to me that while they claim to be critical of Senator Clinton, they are tacitly critical of Senator Obama, as they don't trust him to produce a convention that will be to his greatest benefit. They constantly fear our nominee will be tricked by his own Party mates. Not much confidence in Obama, nor in the rest of the Party. Where does their confidence lie, that is the real question.

22. The ones here on DU
are the biggest disruptors we have.

They rarely talk about beating John McCain.

They just invent fantasy scenarios so they can relive the primary.

Obama has moved on as have most sane Democrats.

The challenge at hand is to defeat John McCain.

24. No, you're not. K & R
The conspiracy theories are being spread by Republicans, those in the media who love drama, and Democrats silly enough to fall for the conspiracy theories.

The Republicans are trying to divide the Democrats, and so are some in the media. The Democrats falling for it are just being duped, sometimes because they're blinded by their hatred of the Clintons (whether because they're still fighting the primaries, or because they fell for RW propaganda against the Clintons earlier). But whatever their reasons for echoing the current RW propaganda, they're unfortunately becoming GOP tools and dividing the Democratic Party when we need unity.

Edited on Fri Aug-15-08 09:47 AM by EV_Ares
this political game by at first Obama and Clinton were too nice to each other, then they got that ramped up, then it was the party is divided because of the attacks being made. Now it is why can't Obama close the deal, why is Obama's lead only at 3 points along with all of this crap, Obama needs to define himself, the people don't know who he is which is crap. The only people asking those frigging questions are the media, not the people.

Obama needs to go to Iraq, needs to be seen on the stage with foreign leaders to be seen as presidential by the american public. Now it is trying to create something out of Senator Clinton's name being placed in nomination which is just a convention and she and Obama have agreed and it is just part of the convention, nothing more, nothing less.

In other words, the media sucks.
