Clinton having her name placed into nomination will...

...increase interest and viewership as a result of this enthusiasm. Nielsen ratings will equate to Super Bowl proportions.

...sate the PUMA's vitriol...to an extent.

Two weeks from this Friday night, after Obama's brilliant speech at Invesco, all will be quiet on the Democratic front. Hillary will be an avid cheerleader for Obama's election on the 4th of November.

The Republican National Convention is in conflict with the opening of NFL 2008. Add to that many no-shows. No contest.

Add to all this:

This will have been my 14th convention...yeah, we had TVs back when. Color TV was atrocious though.

Obama will win in 2008. The Power of Positive Thinking. Tank the negativism.

Imagine yourself here in two weeks...sin the Bronco:

1. These guys have been master script writers from Feb 2007 - we should assume that
they have this scripted in a way that will make Hollywood jealous.

4. Obama has a natural talent that I suspect we've only seen a glimpse of.
I am thrilled he is the nominee.

I believe TV coverage has only been around for the convention since 1948, and this will be the 16th convention covered by TV.

Maybe you heard the ones before that on radio.

Otherwise, I agree with your post.

7. Hey, I had to count them up myself. But the reason I knew ...
... is I've watched (or been to) every convention since 1952. I knew it was either the first or second one carried on TV. ANYway, it's not big deal, but I wanted to give the conventions on TV, and the years, in case anyone was wondering.

probably didn't matter ....

11. I'm not worried about the PUMA's, or Hillary having her name in the hat...
However, I'm just sick about the rat cages they plan to put the protesters in. I don't understand why the security is going to intern Americans exercising their 1st Amendment rights. It kind of ruins things.

As for Hillary and the supporters who worked so hard for her, they deserve time in the spotlight at the convention. It was definitely the most interesting race I've remembered in my lifetime. I think we can be proud that our two most popular candidates broke the middle-aged white male mold. We've a lot to be proud of (except for those damned gulags).
