1. I hope he holds out until Monday or Tuesday night of the Convention.
Let the drama build. Let's get as many people as possible tuned in.

We'll all be basket cases by then. But I hope he holds out.

Obama and Axelrod are ready for prime time.

4. What about at the convention, with all the speakers on stage.
Since almost any one of them but Bill Clinton could be it. They all hold hands while Michelle opens the envelope and reads the name. Then they all hug and cry and the VP nom walks out on the catwalk waving to the crowd.

9. Well, I wouldn't want any Dems getting hurt
I don't have a TV but is that what American Idol is like? I was picturing a beauty pageant.

We could go a different way and make it like Survivor - they have to pass challenges! They vote each other offstage!

7. Bwah!
I was thinking that he needs to announce before the convention so people get a chance to get used to it.

What if he were to announce from the stage, and there was a collective, loud, groan from the attendees. With a few "no fucking way!"s peppered in.

11. "With a few "no fucking way!"s peppered in"
 I think by that point, we would all just be so excited to learn who it is, the initial reaction would be joy and happiness, but then if it turned out to be some dud like Bayh or Nunn, the "no fucking way" would settle in later.

Hell, I just wanna know who it is now! I never could be patient with surprises. I want to know what's going on! :P

25. He's probably making the decision this week.
But he's not going to announce until Friday the 22nd. Perfect timing.... Olympics will be done. Just in time to dominate the Sunday talking head shows leading into convention week.

Unfortunately, McCain will probably do the exact same thing the following Friday, in an attempt to steal the post-convention thunder from the Obama - (insert name here) ticket.

30. McCain campaign making a big long list of if/thens
If Obama picks Bayh, then we pick....
If Obama picks Biden, then we pick...
If Obama picks Clark, then we pick...
etc.

No matter who Obama picks... we're in big trouble.

40. Exactly. Ha!
If Obama picks Bayh, then they will pick Pawlenty thinking they could have a shot at MN b/c Obama would definitely have a good chance of taking Indiana.
If Obama picks Biden, then they will pick Romney, just because Romney is seen as a "business guy" who can talk.
If Obama picks Clark, then they will pick Jindal (just so they can lose in the biggest landslide ever, so McCain can go down in the history books for something noteworthy in this election. The GOP wouldn't even waste a perceived real, viable GOPer for this suicide mission).
If Obama picks Kaine, then they pick Ridge (thinking they can offset the abortion vote in their twisted warped wingnut logic)
If Obama picks Clinton, then they pick Huckabee and go balls out with two Arkansas brawlers duking it out on the V.P. mat. They hold on to the fundie base and create a fury of rebellion over Hillary Clinton.
If Obama picks Richardson, then they pick Fiaroni or Ebay prez thinking they can split the woman vote in their favor to make up for the Hispanic vote McCain would not get.
If Obama picks Schweitzer, they pick Ron Paul just to hold on to at least a 1/5 of the Repuke vote. :D
If Obama picks Obama picks Webb, they pick Lierberman in a desperate grasp for something, anything at all, that would give them 1/16th of teevee time.

I don't know. Their prospects aren't looking too bright. :D

48. Me too!
My dad was a surgeon and for some reason we had a scalpel in the tool drawer. I'd use it as an exacto and carefully split the tape and carefully unfold the wrap then carefully put an identical piece of tape covering the one I'd surgically altered!

It always spoiled my Christmas, but I never learned.
