7. Cokie is working hard so she doesn't have to
redo her dinner party guest lists. This applies to much of the media and punditry. They've gotten fat and rich propping up each other and corrupt politicians by putting out their snide remarks under the lable of "analysis." An "intelligensia" class created by their own bloviating. We need to take the wind out of their sales. Let's get new people in office and expose the gum flappers for what they are.

17. Cokie was to the manor born.
She's the daughter of Congressman Hale Boggs and has been a privileged Beltway insider her entire life. What's interesting is that her father, who was Majority Whip, was of a much more liberal bent --- active in the investigations into JFK's assassination and pushing through much of LBJ's legislation. Boggs Pere's plane "disappeared" over Alaska and the body was never found. How Cokie ended up being a shrill shill for Repukes goes against her roots. However it happened, she's just a propaganda and talking-points spewing robot. Really a repulsoid.

9. Cokie is old guard
She's never going to say a good word about Obama, because he's young, he's black, and he's not part of the inside the beltway crowd she finds so comfy. She's like a backwoods version of Andrea Mitchell.

10. Cokie Roberts is towing the line for the Main Stream Media
The MSM wants this election to be close so people will watch their advertisements.

They will lie to make McCain appear close. The closer the election is, the more money the MSM can collect from advertisements.

And another thing, neither Obama nor McCain are the official nominees. The polls are pure speculation about future outcomes based on events that have not happened yet. The polls at this point in time are no more than a popularity contest, not a scientific measure of possible election outcomes.

14. No one believes this race is close. Not even the most skeptical of skeptics.
Cokie Roberts has always been a shill for the M$M. I learned that during the Clinton impeachment trial.

The question ought to be why McSame cannot seem to close the deal. With McSame's so-called "experience," war-hero persona, plan for energy, the economy, Iraq, etc., why isn't *HE* beating Obama handily? I'll tell you why. Because he isn't. He is losing. The race isn't close.

On the other hand, we keep working. Keep volunteering. Keep registering new voters. Keep donating. Keep making calls. We can't rely on the M$M, and it's become increasingly evident that the Democratic Party Establishment isn't willing to do much to come to the aid of our nominee. So we're going to have to do this ourselves...

16. Dear Cokie,
Guess what? It's true, your worst fears-- the internet is taking the new generation away from network TV and those same people will not watch your internet TV version if you get so advanced as to put one out there. Different demographic, you know? We talked about this earlier in the week...the TV news becoming like Cadillac as a brand. Just unable to adapt. Still got your diehard 60-80 year olds, but you're not bringing in the new, young, demo with the money to spend on the stuff our adverts are hawking. You could try to be a little more shrill, desperate and out-dated by hanging on with your lacquered red nails (also out of date) to the GOP a little harder (they are sooo not 2008), but we suggest you get HIP. And that means

1) become a Democrat
2) become a liberal
3) vote for Obama
4) become a lesbian and speak out about it openly. Maybe if you STAND for something important, you will gain an audience back? Just hoping. But that could be like adding pin stripes to the Cadillac Eldorado and thinking it would attract 20-40 year olds, when in deed, it just brought inn more of the men with something to prove and the older trophy wives who wanted to look like they had arrived but not lost their sex appeal.
5) dye your hair brown to look more like someone smart like Rachel Maddows or anyone, really, but yourself. And listen to KO, try to copy some of his wit-- he's a big hit with the Young Male target demo.

damn, this branding stuff is hard.

Anyway, Cokie, get it together or you're off the air. You've got maybe one year left as is..."Republican", "TV" and your "trophy wife hair" just scream 2007.

Your Agent

Someone Who Knows

it's only coming off her nose, so it's only cartilage!

she looks more and more like Bruce the Shark every time I see her

too BAD your hubby Steve is whoring around, isn't it?

I feel so badly for you

you were quite agita this AM, with the bit about the "gang of ten" that actually wants to find a SOLUTION to the energy situation we've gotten in. all you could do was make a snotty voice like a ten year old, mocking Obama, as if he were saying ''Me, too! Me, too!'' I saw that bizarre performance, Cokie, and I hope your bosses noted it, as well. course, maybe that's what they WANT. your disdain for Obama really got the better of you today, didn't it? I hope you watch the show and cringe the way you should. That was something else. Was Steve not in bed with you this morning when you woke up? Or more like not in your fabulous house, as I doubt if he's slept in the same room with you for years, Bruce. If you kissed him with that nose, you'd probably slice him a new philtrum, Bruce.

Poor Porkie, I mean Cokie

you should see mom Lindy's pad....half the top floor of a fabulous co-op on Connecticut and Wyoming in DC. McGovern owns he other half (I did some work there about 25 years ago, when his son burned it up, after falling asleep while doing freebase!) they have money coming out the wazoo....mom was one of the top, uh, lobbyists in DC for a long time.

23. What's with this "tied" crap?
Eighty percent of the polls I see have Obama in the lead. When *one single daily tracking poll* shows it tied, that's all you hear about for the next 24 hours.

You should have to pass a 25-question statistics test before you get to talk about politics on TV.

Lazy journalist. Lazy thinker. Smug. She's a poster child for the idiocy of having pundits.

She clearly doesn't read DU or she would know how people really see her and would either change or slink off in shame.

31. I view Cokie the same as Pat Buchanan.
Edited on Sun Aug-10-08 02:15 PM by Phx_Dem
When they say something that seems negative toward Obama, it's a good thing. Neither of these two are ever right about anything they say, and when they get negative and defensive about Obama, it's probably because they're nervous.

I used to listen to everything Buchanan said during the Dem primaries, and always knew the opposite was either true or would happen. Case in point: When Bill Clinton made his "Jesse Jackson" comment after the S. Carolina primaries, Buchanan was literally giddy. He absolutely loved it. He said, "this is exactly what they need to do. It will work and it will put them ahead." (paraphrased). I laughed my ass off because, it clearly was going to cause a huge backlash; which it did.

Buchanan and Kookie think like Republicans, and they haven't quite realized that Democrats do not think like Republicans. What works with Republicans doesn't necessary work with Democrats.

Sam Donaldson, Kookie Robertson and George Will are dinosaurs. They need to be put out to pasture, or maybe turned into oil or glue or whatever you do with worthless old dinosaurs. :hurts:
