So when Al Gore is selected for VP and Energy/Environment Czar
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 04:13 PM by PCIntern
(Yeah, I know, he's not going to do it and they're not going to ask him) it will re-frame the entire race and bump Obama 10+ points. Since many Repubs and Independents voted for Bush the Younger and Dumber because they had cheated, if you will, his Daddy out of his second term by voting for Perot or -gasp- Clinton(!), it stands to reason that many would vote for Gore since he was the rightful winner of the (s)election process in 2000, and has, of course added a couple points to his resume/C.V..

O.K., now that you're foaming and ready to flame away, please allow me to say that once again, I have heard from well-placed sources - the highest of high fanciest of fancy fund-raisers in Philly, that Gore HAS NOT RULED OUT A RUN. Now you can take that exactly as it is written...that is what I heard yesterday.

We shall see...

I'll tell you one thing...either something significant is brewing in the Obama Campaign, or this week off is going to be like Dukakis going to Tanglewood with a pseudo-14 point lead. If the latter, we're in some distress...

1. I think Dukakis took a month off and didn't campaign
Obama's taking a week off, and I heard he already delivered a speach.

Plus, his campaign will keep on working.

There might also be some truth to people being over-Obama'ed and by that I don't mean they're over him, but just to much of him right now. So taking some time away, and giving macain the centerstage to make his blunders the only thing on the news isn't such a bad idea.

I'm not to worried.

2. I don't mind his vacation or whatever at all...
there's hopefully a bombshell (sorry about the construction) and I'm postulating that that's what it may be.

Recall: Obama's a poker player...McCain plays shuffleboard...'10 OFF' for HIM!!

5. THIS is the definition of a dream ticket!
He has the experience needed, has done the footwork concerning energy, has a distinguished military record, etc. If only...

6. Among other things, Obama is writing his convention speech. It must be a knockout.
I'd love Gore as VP. I wish.
