Have you all noticed that McCain has nothing to say about the outrage of the day
...but his surrogates sure do?

McCain (or more accurately, his campaign) is attempting to avoid his personal thoughts on a man cheating on his woman who is in difficult circumstances (because of how he cheated on his disabled wife with Cindy before he left his disabled wife to marry Cindy, the beer heiress. Therefore he sends out his minions to do his dirty work. Screw that. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with this crap.

1. I truly believe MSM will eventually turn on McCain.
They're a business and understand that scandal sells. McCain is no doubt watching his every word and praying that no one mentions that a current presumptive nominee also has a problem with fidelity

3. you couldn't be MORE wrong about that. there are MYRIAD examples of very
sleazy, sexually explicit tales of repug debauchery, and they've been ignored, or barely covered, by the press

you have no clue about the way modern media works

they're only interested in democratic scandal

12. Excuse me?
What the hell do you mean by I "have no clue about the way modern media works"? If MSM media wants to talk to John Edwards, they do so with the knowledge that he will likely bring up McCain. I know MSM is a business: whatever will sell, is what they'll run with. I also understand McCain has set himself up to be torn apart and is likely shitting his pants, worrying about when that spark will hit the powder keg.

15. I hope you're right, believe me, but just yesterday the 'media' (david gregory, for one)
refused to discuss it, and silenced Mark Green, who tried to bring it up

I don't see how this topic can avoid being broached, but that's what I thought would happen with Bush/AWOL, and the only tangible result of that was the FIRING of Dan Rather

do you know who Amy Silverman is, and what happened to her interview with Sam Donaldson?

McCain, I'm sure, is needing to change his Depends much more often since Edwards' confession, but he's BANKING on his barbecue pals to keep mum

I fervently hope they do their job for once, but there is ZERO evidence that they will

zero

2. the important thing is not his affair, but that he BLATANTLY LIED about the circumstances:
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 12:06 AM by Gabi Hayes
he lied in his OWN memoirs!

http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/16176.html

he claimed that he wasn't seeing Cindy til he was separated

NOT TRUE

he implied that they didn't marry for several months after the divorce was final

NOT TRUE

it was a month

he ALSO had many 'affairs' besides Cindy, including, according to this 'source'. It's on the internets, so it has to be true, right:

He then proceeded to get an continuous office party going on in the House, banging women two at a time and drunk every night. He was known as the party guy to over stressed legislators with his continuous drunk-a-thon.

isn't there ONE enterprising reporter who can run down this obviously salient trail of improper behavior? if true, he was banging on OUR dime...on OUR property, which so infuriated the pugs when Clinton did it. Let's go, Inquirer.

make sure you read these links, the first of which has appeared her many times, the second of which I just saw today for the first time:

5. My guess is 99% of people that have affairs lie about it. Why would he be any different?
Name me one public figure that has admitted to an affair that did not deny it first.

9. are you serious? do you remember the impeachment, by any chance?
you don't see the hypocrisy attendant in the media, or the pugs?

you don't realize that the entire McCain campaign is based on destroying Obama's character, which makes this episode of mendacity a centrally germane focal point of the coverage of McCain's character, or lack thereof?

should this be ignored?

if the republicans didn't play the game they did, I'd agree with your point, of course, but, since they CAN'T honestly campaign on any issues, they're reduced to the same old gutter politics of Karl Rove, Lee Atwater, etal

it's all they have, and it's time to fight fire with fire, with the exception being the dems don't have to lie, they just point out republican lies

what a concept

10. his surrogates are, and David Gregory/Mike Barnicle have already
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 12:23 AM by Gabi Hayes
put the onus on Obama, Barnicle even saying they should ask HIM if he's had an affair!

no mention of McC. when Mark Green brought it up, Gregory hushed him down, and would NOT allow discussion

there have been many threads about that today

13. Would that everyone here had nothing to say about it...
"When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer, let it be.

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
