17. LOL. Clueless
As to how most Americans think....

Yeah, it's shameless- but it's also effective.

Two might play at this game and win.

If they wanted to/

6. Given his total lack of respect for women, including his wife/s...
it would more likely be Cindy in a Speedo and nothing else, if he could get away with it. After Sturgis, nothing is beyond the pale with him, imo.

7. I think soon, people won't notice it's a negative ad,
they'll tune out everything but the image and maybe be pulled in subliminally.

10. It was quite a contrast
So much negativity from Mr. Maverick in the middle of the over the top goodwill of the Olympics.

14. Are we that naive, folks? McCain is going to run a barrage of negative ads
Edited on Sat Aug-09-08 12:24 AM by Carrieyazel
all through the Olympics on all of the NBC networks. Some new, some already out, and it looks like he's going on the freakin' offensive yet again, outdoing the Obama camp in number of ads run during the Olympics. If the Obama camp doesn't run some effective ads of their own, this could be a damaging 2 weeks.

15. I thought it was pretty tasteless to run a negative ad during the Opening Ceremonies...
It was downright crass to dampen the mood with that pointless negativity.

Tacky, tacky, tacky.

Actually, I'm really hoping that Obama keeps it positive with his Olympic ad buy. The Olympics are no time for mudslinging.

18. The__________ are no time for mudslinging.
First of all, we don't need to lie. That's the beauty of it.

And second of all- if you haven't noticed, Republicans and their allies have been kicking rational thinking peoples' asses for the past 25 years.

Ask yourself: Why is that?

19. Let him run that ad
It starts out like it might be a pro-Obama ad. You want the outset to be gripping and clear. I guarantee if you asked viewers after the Olympic telecast if they saw a pro-Obama ad or pro-McCain, a higher percentage than typical would say pro-Obama.

Ed Rollins had it right tonight. He's one of the right wing pundits who doesn't slant everything to his side. Those are the analysts I appreciate. He gave specific poll numbers on likability, with a huge gap in Obama's favor. Rollins said when you're seen as far less likable, the attack ads don't work, boosting your negatives in the process.
